yeah dude.. the song is good in concept, but it's just straight up pretentious.. and that ridiculous little orchestral build-up between the chorus and the verse makes me shake my head everytime i hear it.

What's wrong with you people? Bridging The Gap is an excellent song, and the beat for it is probably one of the most impressive of the last 5 years. I like the way it sounds like there's a slight time signature change during the verses, and the way it slows down during the chorus. Sure, it's a little pretentious and the lyrics aren't incredible or anything, but it's original and pushes things forward a bit. And it's not like they sampled Bad To The Bone or something, which is what people keep saying; it's just your standard blues riff, which gives it that timeless quality.

can I get a link to the "Don't Merk Yourself" track, because I looked and I'm not finding it around easily.

I think 'bridging the gap' is alright. it's certainly not like its a recycled concept; I've never heard blues-rap before, maybe Everlast.

Bridging the Gap's beat isn't that good.

Maybe original, but not really that good.

anyway, back to "DOnt Merk Yourself"

i like the line:
"They say Jada defeated him, Joe too street for him/what’s next? I guess its for Nas to ether him"

that bizarre slowed down singing in the chorus is a bit odd.
