after wanting one ever since they came out, I finally went out and bought a ps2 the other day. I only own 1 games so far though, San Andreas which is pretty fucking fun. I don't really do any missions though, I mostly just run over people and crash cars until the explode (y) . I want to get a Resident Evil game but all I can find are Code Veronica and Outbreak. Are they any good? What about Onimusha 3? It has Jean Reno in it so I must kick ass

I don't have one, but the Max Payne games are some that I would buy. If I played video games of course.

you can play any old PS games on it as well. And if you are asking for any of the games EVER, I recommend ANYTHING Resident Evil except Outbreak since it has long load times and such.
God of War is great. Anything Tekken. Vice City is good, especially because of the Miami Vice vibe haha. Kingdom Hearts. Medal of Honor Frontline. Any Metal Gear. Splinter Cell. Jak II.
I'll think of more I'm sure.
i recommend killer 7. it's kind of like resident evil, except the people who made it had to be on acid, because it's absoultely surreal. you're an assassin with multiple personalities (7, believe it or not), and each one has unique abilities to get you through your jobs. you kill zombies and talk to ghosts and a severed head named suzie that gives you rings. If you can find a rental place that carries it, go for it. I couldn't, so I just bought it, i don't regret it. it's very wierd, but a lot of fun.

Stick to sports/driving games.
For shooty shooty it has to be mousey mousey.

WORD! My lady has been raving about this game. She said that one of the characters (her favorite) slits her wrists and uses the blood spray as a weapon....or something like that.

I generally agree, but there's still good shooting games for consoles. Mostly 3rd person games, where you can automatically lock on to targets, or the game is generally at least very forgiving in terms of where you can aim. For just flat out first person shooters (medal of honor, call of duty, that kind of thing) controllers are just really awkward to use.
killer7 works quite well, most of it is in 3rd person. when you go to aim your gun, it goes into first person, and you can lock on to targets (though you'll want to manually fine tune your aim to hit the more vital parts of them, and also to make their heads explode). Most of the enemies are pretty slow moving anyway (they are zombies) and i don't think any have any ranged attacks, so there's never that feeling of "goddamnit everyone's shooting me and i can't move the joystick without doing a 180 degree turn" thing that most console FPS games have.
figures, the first post i make in like 2 weeks has to be in a video game topic...that was on the 3rd page...here i thought i was growing up :(

But Bob, you ARE coming of age.
See? Your breasts are firm and supple.

yeah, i forgot about that. it's a tool for solving puzzles and i haven't used it very much, but yeah, that's one of the characters, it's bizarre/grotesque/hilarious. the characters have a lot of color. there's an albino who throws knives, and when he takes off his sunglasses he turns invisible. there's a luchador with twin grenade launchers who can stop bullets with his face. there's a guy who looks and sounds suspiciously like spike spiegel from cowboy bebop (the hair's different but the suit is right on) and carries a revolver who's just awesome. the "main" personality, who you rarely actually use, is an old man in a wheelchair who uses a sniper rifle.

hey man, the average video game player is age 33. Fact.
oh sweet, an excuse that will last me 12 years! phew!
i don't think any of these average gamers play counter-strike

Bob, I wouldn't be so sure.
I'll be playing video games until I die. So whatever. I'll never be too old. Even when I'll be 80 years old and squealing like a school girl while shooting zombies heads off on Resident Evil #210, still, not too old ;)

yeah me too, probably. for a while i thought i was getting sick of games, they just weren't as fun for me as they used to be. then i bought killer7 (i'm done advertising now, promise) and i got sucked back in. turns out i just hadn't played any good games recently! how funny

exactly. Good games keep you in. There is an oversaturation of bad games right now.
september looks to be a good month. shadow of the colossus (formerly known as wanda and the colossus, sequel to Ico) comes out...um...a bunch of other games i was drooling about too, but now i can't remember what they were. well, it'll come to me. but colossus should be awesome. you play as a kid with a bow, a sword, and a horse, and you ride around the desert killing giant mechanical...giants. essentially. i haven't really read the details about it but if it's anything like ico it should be quite nice.

I see Half-life for the PS2 in bargain bins.
Is there some reason why nobody buys it?
It's one of the best games ever right?

There this really awesome game I used to play on the old school Playstation called Evil Zone (I think that's the name anyway). It's a fighting game, butit has these craaaaazy anime sequences in between matches with some of the weirdest English voiceovers ever. "I like rice. I like rice with eggs and mayonaise." It's soooo bizarre. Everybody go play it.

yeah i have. it's a good simulator. better graphics + more cars but still same old GT gameplay. handling is more advanced too. i'd get it if you were into racing simulators.

is gt4 one of those games that you actually need the racing wheel to play with success?
i love the dummy effect the game has when one dies.

nah you don't need a wheel. i've played with a controller and it's just as effective. not as real and sensetive as a wheel though.

i hate pro-Xbox people who think everything Xbox make is automatically greater than Playstation.
Xbox is just a piss-ant attempt at taking over Playstation. Gates just wants more money. you can play majority of Xbox games on PC anyway.
