i usually browse a while and end up with a ridiculous stack of cds in hand and spend the 15 second trip to the checkout line realizing how much money I'll have to spend if I reeeeally want all the shit I'm holding.
so I whittle it down and today I walked away with:
M.I.A. Arular
Scissors Sisters Scissor Sisters
Dj Shadow Endtroducing (Deluxe Edition)

Back in the day, he'd make many threads about his trips to record stores, where he'd weigh out his options on what records to get before finally settling on his (pre-89) musical selections.
You went for 100% post-89 stuff, so it seems you're acquitted of being Spanishbomb. ;)

That means you'll have to enter all the threads discussing pre-89 music and talk about what vile trash "old music" was. Preferably in the same two sentences, over and over. It'd be a riot! :D

You have a good memory. (y)
However, SB made long-winded stories of doing stuff with his dad before heading to the record store and other stuff.
I just listed my latest purchases and left it at that.

speaking of purchases, Scissor Sisters is fucking great.
it's such a fun album.
i have yet to partake in the other two.
however, I bought MIA simply because I listened to a bit of it at one of the preview station things and was amazed at how every song had my complete attention within 3 seconds.
I'll dive into that one next.

yeah, I'd been hearing about endtroducing because of the re-release.
since I'm sort of a collector as well, I can never resist anything tagged "deluxe edition"

If you're into Scissor Sisters, my I suggest Bobby Conn's 'Golden Age'.

I hate it when I go to a record store, my mind usually draws blank. So I spend a lot of time going back and forth to the A section and S section, etc...
Too true. Before I go to the store, I got a billion ideas running through my head. Then I actually get there and I'm like: "Oh shit! What was I looking for?"
Either way, I still manage to walk out of there with PLENTY of stuff to listen to.

I'm always upset to see nothing in stock for Gary Numan when I go music shopping.
Word. Where's "Pleasure Principle"?

Pink Floyd is overrated.

I usually leave either disappointed or with something. They usually don't have what I want or are all out of stock. Sometimes I find something good. I recently picked up the greatest hits of The Runaways. Pretty decent.
Now if I was in the Borders in Burlington, I'd be having tons of albums in my hands and having a hard time deciding which to buy.
you should check out this album called
monsta island czars - escape from monsta island
right up your alley I reckon.

No where! Yet the entire catalogue of Marilyn Manson, Creed, and Metallica are always there. The pukes.
At least I found "Replicas."
I think you should find an indie record store. You'd be happier and you'd find more of the titles you're looking for...

the only one close to an indie store closed down a few years ago. All that is left are the following: Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Coconuts, and F.Y.E.
Yeah, great for Rutland. Coconuts is good for used CDs, but that's it.
There was a vinyl/cd store here a couple years ago or so, but that closed too. I should move to Burlington.
Can you make special orders at (any) of your record stores? That could help you find those albums you can't find...

F.Y.E. does carry good stuff, occasionally. They're they only joint that has the MC5, Stooges or even the Stone Roses.
