yeah
I counted the wrong number of stuff at this warehouse I'm temping at today
I'll have to carry a calculator around I think
I'm using up my pen ink doing sums on the cardboard boxes.
anyone else hate Maths?

I hate math with a passion.
That's why I'm a western european history major. I'll never ever have to use math.
Ever.

I'm glad I'm not alone in the Maths hate thing
What annoys me is that in some boxes you have 48 items/36 items or other odd numbers and the pick sheet say 679
see what I mean?

It's the odd numbers--they're confusing.
I have to think about math hard. If I concentrate on it enough, I'll get it. I've got hardcore mathematician friends who live and breathe equations and proofs. The one pressured me to read Fermat's Enigma. I got through it & with only a few nervous attacks. :)

You sure, because there's a copy sitting right here and it's dying to be somewhere where it'll be loved. :D

Yup I always sucked at it in school and hate math, unless it's counting my money...which I don't so much hate as it leaves me feeling vaguely dissatisfied and a little panicky.

I'll never ever have to use math.
Ever.I pretty much use it everyday. In my new job, about 1/3 of what I do is number crunching. And at least a couple of times a year, I get excited because I need to use an algebra equation to figure something old.
Unless you turn over finances to Wayne, you'll use math, too.
What annoys me is that in some boxes you have 48 items/36 items or other odd numbers and the pick sheet say 67948 & 36 are even numbers, even. And neither will add up to 679(obviously).
After college, I was an assistant buyer for a department store, which is a glorified warehouse order taker. My company was behind the times and we did not have spreadsheets on computers. I had to determine distribution by hand, using graph paper. It sounds pretty similar to your pick sheets. The rule was, the total number had to be divisible by the inner pack. If not, I'd round up or down to the closest inner pack number. Try that?
BTW, because I have a near photographic memory, I'd remember how much each orders quantity and how many boxes that equaled for future orders. I used less and less graph paper over the course of my 15 months in that job.

so yeah, that will be about $1,500.28 wasted! (n)
not to mention my precious time!

The most accomplished mathemeticians I know are excellent musicians.
They talked me into learning how to play instruments to me help get through some difficult math & physics.

I have always sucked at math. I don't mean I am bad at it, I mean I suck at it. In my highschool you had to get your current math teachers approval to take the next level math course the following year (e.g. your freshman year algebra teacher had to give the O.K. for you to take geometry your sophomore year and that teacher had to approve you moving on to trig junior year and so on). I was so bad that my sophomore geometry teacher wouldn't sign off on me taking trig the following year so I had to choose an elective, which was accounting (and for some dumbassed reason, I absolutely aced accounting). I didn't really care though. I kept saying to myself "I don't need math anyway. Like I'm gonna grow up and get a job where I use math all day. Yeah, right!"
Guys know what I do?
I work at the Chicago Board of Trade. I use math all day every fucking day.
I laugh every time I think about that.
