can someone please fill me up with some figures on the sales of the beasties' latest album?

well it's platinum in the US (one million sales right?), and sometime before that they announced it had sold a million copies worldwide.

So between one and two million worldwide I'd say.

What would make "Platinum, Gold...ect, as far as sales go? How does that work? :confused:

Platinum - 300,000 copies / Gold 100,000 copies / Silver 60,000 copies.

That's for the UK.

I'm not sure about the US, although I'm pretty sure a million sales is platinum. I've read somewhere that gold is 500,000 copies, and theres also diamond which is 10,000,000.

I think the figures have changed over history though and the US one's I've given could well be wrong.

Here's how they do it in the states...

Gold - 500,000 copies sold

Platinum - 1,000,000 copies sold

Diamond - 10,000,000 copies sold

By my estimates, To The 5 Boroughs has sold roughly 1.5 million copies in the USA. That number pales in comparison to other entries in the Beastie Boys catalogue, but it's still nothing to bark at.
