well his wife his hungarian, and that is where the kid was born and it isnt common to do it there, and from what i understand they just decided against it when they came back here. i heard he was having some sort of 'problem,' but i dont know what the problem was.
i just cant imagine the pain he must be feeling after having something uncovered that has been covered and not exposed for so long. im sure it must be painful.

if he had a problem then it's a medical reason....it's infected or some what or perhapes it doesn't go over the head normaly / half way ?? don't now
my parent had to do this with my brother but only cause it had to be done cause of it beeing infected to and it would become worse again and again so it was better to do so !!

I don't see what the big deal is, uncircumcised penises are more prone to infection and look really weird. Originally when I read this I thought it sounded like they had the family over for some sort of pseudo briss. If it was a medical procedure done by a doc for medical reasons then good for his parents. They just shoulda done it sooner.

Maybe he was too young to be teased yet. But my American male friends assure me that if you're one of the few who wasn't, you're going to get mercilessly teased by the other boys in the locker room at school. It's the only reason my friends give for having it done to their sons.

It's not all that uncommon for boys to be circumcised from 8-12 years of age.

As I reckon most of us know, all boys have spontaneous erections occasionally beginning in infancy. What happens is that as the boy becomes pre-pubescent, and the penis grows, these erections can start to become quite painful for uncircumcised boys, because sometimes the foreskin opening is too narrow for the fully erect penis to extend comfortably. Sometimes this results in tearing of the skin, which can lead to infections, etc. In this case, medical circumcision is usually the recommended course of treatment.

I would be willing to wager this is the case here.

The little boys I knew all had been snipped so I hadn't thought of that explanation, but it sure makes sense.

exactly. People always said it was a matter of "hygiene" but really, as long as you clean the skin it'll be fine. That's what it's there for, to help protect. Also, guys that are not circumsized have 40% more feeling than most guys who are.

I saw a special on this somewhere a while back, hence the 40% more feeling knowledge. It was the discovery channel or something else reputable.

That's about the time when you're supposed to turn the tables around and ask them why they're looking at your dick in the first place... unless they're all gay or something. You're just minding your own business and they're checking out your wang? No way, dude.

I thought that's what you guys do when you're alone in your males-only places. I saw it in a movie once. Porkys? Last American Virgin? I can't remember.

that stinks. I remember hearing about that too. It's ridiculous.

I'd be like "bitch, whateva! I got 40% more feeling once I get a vagina later in life so BOOYAH!"

but I guess that really would be wasted on boys that age that tease about it. Oh well.

Well, a lot of American women think it's gross if men haven't been snipped. That's why my female friends do it to their sons. And men seem to want their sons to look like them.

One guy in particular who felt strongly about this was on a lot of sports teams. He said that boys tease other boys all the time, and if you were one of the 2 or 3 in class that still had the foreskin you would be miserable.

One of my close female friends read about it and thought about it and talked about it with me and the other women at lunch for months and never could make up her mind. I visited her in the hospital two days after she had her baby boy. She was asleep and her husband was holding the baby. Her husband said the baby was sleeping because he just had his little procedure and I said, "Wow, I never knew that Karen made up her mind about that" and her husband said, "wow, it was never even an issue for debate as far as I was concerned." :)

This whole thing started in America in the 20th Century. I guess because doctors thought it was more clean?

I think it's a pretty uniquely 20th Century American thing.

Except for Jews who do it for OT reasons.

In my Christian history reading it said that Christians gave it up so that non Jews would join the new sect. Apparently adult males who were converting to early Christianity didn't want to give up their foreskins. I don't blame them because there's a passage in the OT where a woman removes foreskin from a bunch of men with a sharp stone. :p

Sometimes I feel like I'm a lesbian, because I really hate the penis' look. I really wish penises looked cute.:(

I dunno. I've heard the pros and cons about this situation several times. To me it just seems more hygienic. I'm snipped and if I had a son he would be snipped, too. But not at eight fucking years old. That's just traumatic and the cause of many years of therapy down the road.

I know a kid who just got circumsized last year (at age 17) because he didn't like showering with all the circumsized dudes. I guess it might seem weird; I don't know. Personally, I'd prefer not to have been circumsized; partly for sensual reasons and partly for theological reasons.

i like it with a hoodie :p

also: i was dating a guy whose family was asking him to get re-circumsized (at age 20!) because the first time around wasnt done with a rabbi present or some shit like that. he said hell no, he's still scarred from the first time around.

Custom as in they will actually let the man with the foreskin decide if he wants to get a circumcision? Now that would be news!

I don't remember parading my penis around the boys locker room -- can't comment on the girls locker room. :o Kids were not teased about circumcision. And I can't imagine boys comparing their penii with daddy's too often.

I have a feeling most American parents do it because they think they should.

He might have had a tight foreskin. If it is too tight to pull back over the helmet it can't be kept clean and causes a build up of guff (smegma I think it's called) which can lead to urinary infections.

The pain of circumcision isn't too bad - just the pain you would expect of having stitches - most of which is psychological as men are protective of their bits. I didn't get circumcised until I was 19. The worst part of circumcision is when a doctor walks up to your bedside with bunch of students and asks you to pull out your penis and to slide the foreskin back. Oh, and there's the young male nurse who wants to shave your genitals or the pretty, female doctor who has to inspect the stitches. :D
