regular, weekly meals?

do any of you eat a particular meal every week as a tradition?
joe and i have a sunday night special, which consists of baked potatoes with herbs and cheese, and corn on the cob.
i know it's nothing complicated or special because neither of us can cook that well, but having it every week is nice, almost comforting.

A while back I tried to plan out a regular rotation of meals. Not an absolute schedule, but maybe 3 days a week where we had the same meal week to week. I figured it would be a good way of managing the food budget and to help monitor caloric intake.

Then one day not too long after I realised I didn't give a fuck about managing the food budget, or monitoring caloric intake, I just wanted to buy what looked fresh and good that day at the market. So that idea went straight out the window.

Still though, during the winter, I do more often than not make a whole chicken on Sunday, so that's good for dinner that day, lunch the next, then boil down the carcass for stock on Monday, and make chicken soup on Tuesday. Not every week, but prolly 2 out of 3.

we barbecue at my mom's house with my brother and his wife pretty often, usually at least once a month. we don't change up the menu all that much but that's how we like it. :)

i try to keep a lot of variety in my diet. but i still am in love with Dr. Praeger's California Veggie Burgers. if only they were organic...

at home, i seem to hit a steady rotation of fresh meals and leftovers...


at school though, i tend to make some sort of stir fry like dish with rice and veggies early in the week.


and if i could, i would have spaghetti or chili every weekend. i'll have to give that a try...

Tuesday it's just me and my little brother, so we eat chicken and tater tots.
