1) This album makes me want to strip off my clothes and dance and hump and it puts me in touch with the black woman that resides in my soul.

2) I've come to the conclusion that Al Green is the most soulful motherfucker to ever lay down a vocal track.

Why, why some people break up
Then turn around and make up
I just can't see
You'd never do that to me (would you, baby)
Staying around you is all I see
(Here's what I want us to do)

Al Green. Otis redding. Jackie Wilson. These 3 cats are soul jihad.

James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Smokey Robinson...

And don't front on Elvis.

Oh, I will front on Elvis. You just watch.

That's a pretty soulful list you've compiled there, Mike. But here's the distinction between Al Green and the likes of James Brown, Marvin Gaye, etc. - those guys can hit the high notes when they scream but Al Green would put them to shame in a humming contest. You know a dude's got soul when he hums the high shit. (y)

don't forget Bill Withers.

I love me some Al Green, but everybody passes up on Bill Withers, cause they're CAH-RAZY!

(and they don't know karate).

I'll stick to Plastic Soul.
