Seems to be going pretty well. I mean, the kid's still alive and all :)

You should just put 'em in a free-range pen out in the backyard with a bowl of water and a teletubby. Then go take a nap. (y)

get off the board and make the baby's not licking electrical outlets, drinking bleach or choking on milk!

But how are you feeling?
yeah, not bad. Feet are hurting a bit, as we went to the zoo and I was on my feet all day, but really, it wasn't bad at all.
You should fix yourself a drink, you deserve it.

I just opened up a bottle of wine now, before sittinng down at the computer. But not because I felt I needed it as a result of taking care of the kid. I'd probably be opening one around this time anyway, regardless.
She's asleep now, and I'm told she usually sleeps through with no problems, so whilst I'm not entirely off duty, it should be all pretty much chill from here.

You don't even need to really watch kids, that's what Nyquil is for... it ain't really the "night time, coughing, stuffy head, sneezing, sore throat runny nose so you could rest medicine". It's the "give the kids a double dose when they are making a bunch of noise so you can rest medicine" ;)

Wow I was going to post something similar except I would suggest using baby Nyquil, it's exactly like regular Nyquil except you give it to a baby.

She liked the giraffes very much. There were quite cool.
She was a little scared of the macaques. They were just sitting there quietly, then suddenly they all started jumping up and down and screeching, and she burst into tears. I tried to explain to her that it was her own fault - she really shouldn't have pulled the banana out of the pram and started waving it around at them yelling 'nana!' but she didn't really want to hear that.

It's your job, as part of taking care of her, to anticipate these situations and avoid them. You can't expect a 15 month old to understand teasing animals.
I guess, the real question is, how many times did the parents check in with you?

What, and miss a potential golden comedy moment like that one? Not a chance, mate!

Mummy only telephoned once, and sent 2 text messages. I'm very proud of her.

My brother used to think bacon came from giraffe's necks. Except he called them "gerfs".
What a dummy.
