i need a phone

i need some sort of communication, and i don;t know if getting a minimal landline would be any cheaper than just getting a bare minimum cell phone plan. i don't use it that often, so i really don't want to pay a lot for whatever i end up with

i'd say minimal landline. that would be the best thing if you were living here. i don't know about your situation though.
