Use it all the time from the employer side...posting jobs, searching resumes. I've used it as well on the job seaker side....that's how I got the job I have now.

I had a resumé on it for the longest time and got nothing; however, when I moved to France I updated it and applied for a proposal and got a phone call back pretty quick afterwards - was surprised! Unfortunately, wasn't available to move to the south of France for it.

Monster is pretty good. As are any of the online sites. They have lots of jobs but that also means lots of applicants.

I'm of the "many irons in the fire" school of thought. You probably won't find a job if you just post your resume/look on monster. I suggest follow up, too. If you find a position that's interesting, maybe check around with some friends and see if they have an in at the company. That might help get your resume out of the stack of other applicants.

It really depends on the type of job and area. If there is a craigslist near you, try that too. Wait, aren't you in teaching?

I just found my new job through networking. I used various online sites -- Monster, Yahoo/Hotjobs, bajobs, etc., but only got 2 interviews that way in 14 months.
