View Full Version : I HATE AUTO-CORRECT!

I'm trying to type up a French paper and I look back on what I wrote and the word "anxious" is there instead of "anxieuse".
BITCH IF I WANTED TO WRITE "ANXIOUS" I WOULD WRITE "ANXIOUS"!
Seriously. Is our society so freakin' lazy/stupid that we need auto-correct all the time? Why, in my day, we had spell-check we used after we were done to show us what mistakes we've made, and how to fix them, instead of this bullshit auto-correct that lets the computer do it for us! You don't learn shit if the computer fixes your mistakes!
God, I sound like my grandpa. :(

I don't know how, it's a new computer and I'm not used to Works 7.0.
I do have a question for you though, why do you only reply to me to attack me? Ever have anything nice to say?

Yes, Alt+t+U will disable autocorrect.

I like to go onto publicly used computers and set my own autocorrect options. Like, for example you can make it so that everytime someone types Richard it'll change to Dick. But the use that I make of this option is a lot more evil than just changing a full name to a nickname.

I bet that'll screw your computer up.
No, I figured it out. Alt+t+u works. I still say it's a pointless feature though.
Thanks, Rich.

i don't think it's pointless.. for people who type fast and a lot without looking at the screen it fixes little typos and spelling mistakes here and there..

Yeah, but couldn't you just use spell-check when you're done?
It's pretty much the same thing. Except that auto-correct a lot of the time changes your words to things you don't want, and you don't realize because the little squiggly red line isn't under the word.
