Bomb suspect 'no intent to kill'

Osman Hussain is being linked to the Shepherd's Bush attack
London bombing suspect Osman Hussain wanted to scare people but had no intention to kill, his lawyer has said.

"It was a political protest to make people scared without hurting anyone," Antonietta Sonnessa told BBC News.
.....
Mr Hussain knew he had been carrying explosives, Ms Sonnessa added

"He also knew there wasn't a sufficient amount to cause damage."

He had been "absolutely convinced and sure" no one would be killed, she told BBC One's Newsnight programme.

"The justification for it was to do with Muslim women and the way that they've been treated.

"He is just a poor lost boy on the wrong tracks."

exfuckingSCUSE me? 'poor lost boy'? He's a goddamn 27 year old MAN who got onto a train carrying explosives with the intent at the very least (if we believe this bollocks about not actually wanting to 'hurt' anyone, yeah right) to make people think they were about to die?

And I'm supposed to feel bad for him, or something?

Seriously I don't know if she was forced to or not (that's the only way I'd defend a terrorist) but if that ever happened to me I'd agree to it and then just do a really shitty job.

Maybe they can get her to come to England to defend the guys who put the axe in the head of that lovely kid in Merseyside. I'm sure she can come up with a very good excuse about how deprived those guys were, and how really what choice did they have?

They should lock up Joey Barton, as well.

Most of the time, the attorney is just there to make sure the government is doing its job--keeping the government honest--making sure the rules are followed. That's a good thing for all of us.

When I was in juvenile court, the public defenders had to make arguments that a mom who had just split her baby's head open should get the baby back temporarily. The attorneys would argue vigorously and then privately admit that they prayed the judge wouldn't listen to a word they said. You can't do the job unless you're going to try hard. But you count on the other side trying just as hard, and on the judges making good decisions.

The whole, "I intended to bring a bomb but didn't intend to hurt anyone" defense isn't really workable. :p But given the amount of time the press has spent saying that these sorts of bombers are brainwashed by their religion I suppose that's the best argument the attorneys can make. The more we blame the religion, the less culpable we make the bombers themselves.

If you hold up a bank with a fake gun you still get done for armed robbery, so wandering around with a genuine bomb in your bag and then detonating a minor explosion must surely constitute a similar situation.

I in no way condone the actions of the UK tabloid press, but that lawyer doesn't know the shit-storm she is walking into...

Didn't that silly cunt have a nailbomb in his backpack? And he "never meant to hurt anyone"? Oh please...

They should just lead him out to the middle of the field during a Millwall game and announce to the crowd exactly who he is and what he did.

And film it, then send the tape out to all the other fuckers who are thinking of trying shit like this.
