how many of you lovely peoples keep journals? not online, i mean actual notebooks, journal books, pieces of papers attached in a group where you write what comes to your mind? how long have you had it? is it purty?

i have tried, many times writing half an entry and leaving them be, only to be found months/years later in a massive cleaning campaign and being thrown out.

but this time... i bought a gorgeous book. a moleskin, actually. and who wouldve thunk it, i have a lot to write about. im a little scared of not being able to continue, but i think that even if i do it for a month, it will be one month that i will have forever a transcript of my thoughts. and if you know me well, you know that right now my thoughts are all over the goddamned place. this is a very interesting time in my life. im happy to be writing about it.

ive had a journal since i was around 16 where i would write what you described- thoughts, opinions and also ideas/scenes for short films, and also dream of consciousness type entries. and i kept doing this for years until about 2 years ago i lost the habit and now the board sometimes makes up for it.

I wrote some of the most horribly depressing suicidal stories and poems in my diary in high school, because when I read it over it made my problems minimal in comparison.

Then my parents found it. Let's just say they didn't see it the same way as I did.

the closest thing to a joirnal i had was when i started writing short story type things based on stuff that actually happened. i would start to write and take something that happened and blend in random bits of things that i would make up as i went a long. i think i did about 5 or 6 of them before i stopped. i still have the notebook that they are in, and would love to pick it up again if i could

i used to write almost daily in a journal from sixth grade to junior year of high school, then i pretty much stopped.

i started up again last year. i'm glad i did. just a little composition book. i use it for everything - grocery lists (god i'm domesticated), phone numbers, school schedule, writing angry poems about assholes that piss me off, drawing penguins.

I try to, and stick with it for a week or so then I forget and never do it again. I really want to try and stick with that ish though. I just need to get a nicer book or something to write in.

I almost wrote a journal entry this morning, but my cow's teets needed sucking.

i carry around a little green notebook, i write down funny thoughts that pop into my head because i got tired of forgetting them. allow me to read you a few entries:

dr. hitler

corpse: the television show

well, it's a small notebook, i have to use shorthand, but they make sense to me

I have a fuzzy velvet blue journal that I write haiku in...seriously.
