A bit premature perhaps, but if there is a singles collectoion 'in the works' I thought an early thread of speculation was an ok idea. I know there's been no official confirmation or anything...but still, I'm fairly interested in the idea.

I was thinking they have released well over 20 singles, and if this is more of Capitols idea (which i think is likely), I reckon it'll be cut down to about 15 of the greatest hits. Whatever though...if there is one I'm sure I'll end up buying it.

However, I really liked the Anthology and the way it included hits, other album tracks, and b-sides/rarities, and bascially covered all aspects of the Beasties career. Also, a singles thing seems top be what every other band does after being around for a few years, and I don't know...it kinda seems like a full stop with most bands.

Anyways this is mere speculation...for all I know it could be a 12-inch box set collection which would be crazy (as someone else said in the Oscilloscope thread...where this all started), and hey, a lot of singles collections these days include a brand new track :)

d'ya know where the they recorded Shadrach for the video? if that was a whole gig I'd love to have that...either way though that's a quality performance.

on the strength of Shadrach alone i'd be pushed to agree...the energy is pretty full on. not that the shows since then aren't, cos they are, but the fact it's in like a small venue aswell and pretty much everyone in the crowd is going crazy...man holy grail indeed!

Cheers, that's what I need to tell my time machine!

With the singles thing, I'm debating whether or not Fight For Your Right and No Sleep...would be included. If so, and Capitol is more behind it than the Beasties I personally feel it'd be a collection of around about 18 tracks (all 25 or so singles couldn't fit on one disc!)

1. Fight For Your Right
2. No Sleep Til Brooklyn
3. Hey Ladies
4. Shake Your Rump
5. Shadrach
6. So What'Cha Want
7. Pass the Mic
8. Gratitude
9. Sure Shot
10. Root Down
11. Sabotage
12. Intergalactic
13. Body Movin'
14. 3 MC's
15. Alive
16. Ch-Check It Out
17. Triple Trouble
18. An Open Letter to NYC

Damn I've taken this speculating (mostly by myself) too far! I think I'll wait until soem official word before I go any further.

maybe it'll be a collection of bsides and rare tracks. that would be MUCH better. if it's just a collection of songs they released as singles that will suck. it will be like a greatest hits collection and thats whack

Until Adam Yoggin and company could deny it, I'd be inclined to view it as a death knell.
