yes I'm all about asking 'real world' questions lately.

Anyway, for you early 20 year olds, if you have had one minor traffic violation (or less!) and had just a generic car (i.e. civic) what was your insurance cost like?

Under my parents I am paying around $54 a month, mainly because I live with them and my Dad has a super clean driving record. But If I was not on the plan with them, I wonder what I'd be paying. I got a quote a while ago, but I'll be damned if I can remember what it was.

Gratzi.

I've no idea, but for the record, if you got Safe Auto, I would go on a hunger strike.

23. Two year no claims. Never crashed. Only driver. 1.6 engine.

$2,119.74 a year I've just been quoted. Fuck.

It depends on where you live and whether you use your car for business, etc. Go to www.progressive.com and they will give you their quote, plus a couple of other companies (if you're in the US)

damn!

I hope mine is cheaper than that ;/ haha

I think the quote I got months ago was something like 600-700. But I do not know if that was quarterly, every 6 months, or what the hell. Bah.

I have to pay $2500 and some change per year. I've never had an accident

I won't say specific ranges, 'cause I don't know how things go out in California, but I'd imagine you'll pay a decent chunk of change.

I had about the same record as you a few years ago and paid about $100 a month for my Grand Am. The Rendezvous was a little more... maybe somewhere about $130 a month. This is all full coverage, mind you.

Now, with my Scion I only pay $400 for six months coverage. Also will full coverage... so I don't know how that crap works. Good luck though, man.

don't know about where you live, but around here a civic is one of the more expensive cars to insure, cuz every dumb fuck who's ever watched fast and the furious wants to make their civic into a tuner car, then they all crash them street racing, so the insurance on civics is thru the roof...
i am 29, never had an accident, and am still paying 1800/year in insurance on a 4 door sedan.

I used to pay $90 a month. That was with a clean driving record.
Now 3 tickets, 2 accidents (not my fault), and 1 XXXXXXXXXX charge...its $130 a month.

I think it also has to do with the saftey rating on your car and how probable it is to be stolen (hence the high price on hondas and acuras...they're the most stolen cars in the US). I had a 2002 Jetta and traded it in on a 2004 Passat....my insurance went down $50/month....b/c it's a safer car.

yeah, there are so many variables, it is nuts.

It's funny with neighborhoods too. In my current neighborhood (which could be considered 'ghetto'), it costs 50+ more a month in comparison to say, a neighborhood that is considered 'nice.'

Good times!
