i pick up dialects that i appreciate like a sponge. i guess it's like sampling.
after i watched good fellas i was totally sounding like ray liota. i could hear it in my delivery. i've picked up the jelo thing after listening to some of his spoken word presentations. i had recently watched King of New York and found myself Frank White'n my bosses. His delivery makes you stand up and take notice. I know it's there in my arsenal of voices whenever i need it.
"From now on nothing goes down unless i'm involved, no black jack no dope deals, no nothing. You guys got fat while everyone schtarved on the street. It's my turn"

in my recent trip to NY one of the most fascinating things was watching it like a movie. the brooklynites talking that is "you want some cuofee with that right?" on the subway, those typical be loose loud mouthed teenagers taking up a whole row of seats for every 2 of them, downing greasy potato chips with vitamin water, "naw, ahm not goin theh" and all the fascinating accented words that came out of those mouths
and the mafioso type fat guy standing in the middle of the street at nite, so i ask, why am i not allowed to just stand there and stare at him?

i totally agree. NYC is a movie that's always in progress. barely scripted, completely entertaining and def. worth the admission price.
<3 NYC and new yorkers.

oh yeah, i completely hear that. i do that too. my friends won't talk to me after i've seen a movie with christopher walken in it. but yeah, i've been listening to some jello spoken word stuff, "i blow minds for a living", and the lisp is infectious
i'd like to post more but it's hard, because i'm at work and my desk is very exposed, i've been typing this for 30 minutes now, no joke. i mean i'm sure they know, my internet history is probably easily available to anyone who cares to click on it but i think it's polite to at least try to hide it, you know?
