Erwin Olaf's "Royal Blood" series is stunningly beautiful and clean and yet it's disrupted by this gore and blood...much like the subjects' lives.

Those are interesting, Cosmo. I don't know how much I like them. They look a little too forced or something. Maybe that's part of it. But it does remind me of Twin Peaks and the juxtapositions David Lynch arranged, like the blood of a mynah bird splattered over rows of perfectly stacked donuts.

Max Beckmann is one of my favorite painters. His paintings always tell a story, often a frightening one. I love these two, "the night" and "the dream." Comic and grotesque, absurd and vulgar.

I love those! I think. I mean, they're awfully....interesting. I still think a bit much at times and a little too stylized. It's cold. I wonder what Norcen would think of them because he said his work was "cold" I describe them as cold like fashion photography, very still and cold, lifeless even though he's suggesting quite a lot. that's what i get from his work. it IS cold. he's very high-fashion, one of the most respected photogs in the industry. he's done a lot of big ad campaigns, but i love his personal portfolio the most. it's just so perfect and false. i love it. i wish i could have taken photos like he did.

the most unsettling, for me, are the series of the Down's kids.

I selected two pictures here where he has this weird hand on the...hip?...midriff?...groinal area?...I don't know what you'd call that place on the body besides a REALLY AWKWARD PLACE TO PUT YOUR HAND.

And those are just two of his many pictures with his hand THERE. It is in almost EVERY SINGLE ONE on his website. Go take a look. Grab a beer first and take a drink for every picture where he has at least one hand on that part of his body. Chug a full beer for the pics where he has both hands there.

But seriously, who actually says, "Anything is possible once you believe in yourself and have the knowledge and determination to accomplish your goals." and figures this is a sellable quote? How many more cliches can you possibly fit into one quote. And he actually says this shit in his commercials. Like one of his customers will say, "I never dreamed of the impossible until I did fitness made simple!" And then it cuts back to him and he goes off real serious and happy like, "Yes! You can truly do anything that you believe you can possibly do just by believing in yourself and doing what is possible to belive that you are capable of doing things that you believe you can do and accomplish and goals and acheivement and positivity."

If given the opportunity I would pay my exboyfriend to fart right on this guy's face. Right on it. Not bare-butt though I want him to be wearing his sleep pants that he only washes like once or twice a year. Not like a loud wet type fart either I want one that he'd set his friends up for like, "OH SHH GUYS I GOT ONE COMING!!" and like the whole room gets quiet and he's grinning real big as he pushes his ass outward and everyone is grinning and they look at his ass because looking at a pushed-out ass that is about to fart is just the natural thing to do and the anticipation for the big fart is way, way high and then it's just like "Poooooooooffffshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" and everyone groans because they were expecting a loud fart noise and didn't get it but he still cackles maniacly because in a second or two everyone is gonna be bolting for the door but he knew all along it was gonna be an airy fart that packed a horrific punch.
