You are privileged to have the unique opportunity to view what will more than likely be the 2nd most dominant team in NFL history play their first pre-season game.

It was exactly 20 years ago when the most dominant team to ever take the field shuffled their way to the Championship.

I suggest you get a good seat on the bandwagon now before that bitch fills up.

Remember that horrible video the Bears did all those years ago? I can't remember how it went, but wasn't the team standing on risers a la a high school choir?

In Viking land, we had a local radio host who did a dead-on impersonation of Ditka. :)

I mean I like the song, but c'mon.

THE SUPERBOWL SHUFFLE
Sorry. It's been ages. I've had to live through many Green Bay Packer embarrassments since then. :o

You have to admit that was super lame!

I remember my dad used to hate your qb McMahon because he always wore those sunglasses. My dad never believed he needed them. My dad was on old jock and didn't think it was manly. :p

The '85 Bears reminded me a lot of WWF characters, at the time. Actually, didn't William Perry actually wrestle for a short time, or at Wrestlemania? I'm pretty sure he did.

Yeah dude, The Fridge. He wrestled at Wrestlemania.

Was The Fridge any good, or was he just fat? He didn't look healthy. And McMahon seemed like a train wreck but then the Bears won everything.

McMahon didn't date Bridget Nielson did he? Or was that someone else?

Anyhow, it was a Packer who got to be in There's Something About Mary, leading to a funny Ben Stiller moment. God, I'm sick of the Pack.

How many good years did McMahon have?

How long were the Bears successful?

I'm old enough to remember the late, great Vikings with Fran Tarkington, but we still never won the god damn superbowl.

Back in 85' that was the cut. They used to play that shit 3x an hour on B96, Z95 to. RIP Z95. The Superbowl Shuffle is listed as one of Chicago's first hip hop songs.

He has to wear those glasses for the same reason Cyclops wears his visor. McMahon's mutant ability is throwing an accurate 20 yard out.

That's accurate, they had a lot of over the top personalities on that squad.
I think The fridge wrestled in the match where a new guy jumps in the ring every minute or so. Battle Royal or Royal Rumble? He was in the Coney island dog eating contest too, but Ichiro beat him.

1985
Bears win first 12 games of season en route to posting 15-1 regular season mark, tying the most regular season wins by a team in NFL history. Chicago claims second straight NFC Central title as club record nine players are selected to Pro Bowl.

1/5/1986
Bears host first playoff game since 1963 and shutout New York Giants, 21-0.

1/12/1986
Bears blank Los Angeles Rams, 24-0, in NFC Championship game at Soldier Field and advance to Super Bowl XX.

1/26/1986
The Chicago Bears return to dominance as the shuffle over the NFC on their way to a 46-10 Super Bowl XX victory over the New England Patriots. Bears win first 12 games of season en route to posting 15-1 regular season mark, tying the most regular season wins by a team in NFL history. Chicago claims second straight NFC Central title as club record nine players are selected to Pro Bowl. The Bears set seven Super Bowl records, including most points (46) and largest margin of victory (36). The game was witnessed by record-setting number of viewers via television worldwide. The next day team was greeted by an estimated 500,000 people in a ticket tape parade in downtown Chicago.

1986
Bears capture third straight NFC Central title with 14-2 mark; defense allows NFL record-low 187 points. Bears lose divisional playoff game to Redskins, 27-13. They got cheated.

1987
Bears win fourth consecutive division title with 11-4 mark in strike interrupted season. Team posts four straight winning seasons, a feat last accomplished by Bears between 1946-51. Redskins come back from 14-0 deficit to beat Bears 21-17 in playoffs. Again, they were cheated.

1988
Bears post 12-4 record (tied for best in NFL) and advance to NFC Championship game before losing to eventual Super Bowl Champion San Francisco. They of course, cheated. Bears finish five-year period (1984-88) with 62 wins-most by any NFL team ever in such a span.

The 90's were a fluke.

The final score of the game meant nothing. The 85' Bears were 0 - 4 in the preseason. If the defense stays healthy they will be nasty. Top 2 in the NFC nasty.

Play-offs?
