Just curious if you guys knew if the beasties talked about the songs comin together on the new album? Such as they did with IC, saying sabotage was the first thing started..but the last complete.
My guess would be 'thats it, thats all'? I remember that song being played live about 2-3 years ago, and us discussing rather it would be a single or inserted on the new album. It also seemed that the older version of thats it thats all had diffrent lyrics?

I think they only told about how they worked on a lot of the political/serious stuff first cos it was closer to when 9/11 happened. Then the less serious stuff later.
So I'm guessing We Got The (which is similar sounding to In a World Gone Mad to me), Right Right Now Now and Time To Build were worked on sooner. And This Government Needs A Tune Up.
And yeah, Thats it Thats all had slightly diff lyrics. Everybody was delighted when they discovered that Adrock kept the "power from he" bit.

Yeah I remember looking on BeastieMania's Gigography and seeing "thats it thats all" played a few years ago an I was like "what ?" does anyone have the live version of "thats it thats all" from that particular concert ? Would be good to hear it.

It's choice that Mike changed the timing on the "Zodiac sign is Scorpio" to fuck with the web community. You can hear it in that promo gig they did in Amsterdam, those in the know shout along and D just leaves 'em hanging.
Worked a fucking treat on the album, too. Not many groups do that shit.

I can't share it unless you're Hubbed up, but I can tell you it doesn't have that Orphan Annie sonding "just you rock it better" or "shake your pocket feather" or "Rusty sprocket weather" break in it.
When I first heard that Coachella recording of 'That's it That's all' (When it was just called 'That's It', leading me to believe they might have sampled Big Pun from 'Off the Books') it's fair to say I did shits with excitement.

i have a radio interview where the beastie boys talk about the origins of each track from tt5b. i'm too lazy to listen to it right now but i have it shared on the hub if you want. it's it my "to the 5 boroughs related shlock" folder and it's called "BB commentary on TT5B Tracks".
i do remember them saying We Got The ended up being last on the album because it was simply last alphebetically from their original list. little tidbits like that abound in this thrilling commentary cd.
