let me try another approach, here's a monkey at a typewriter (http://www.monkeysattypewriters.com/monkey.jpg) and now this is the pic of the weird sea lion (http://images.viacomlocalnetworks.com/images_497976798/xl).
That should clear things up.

I was kidding. I think the point of this thread was that the picture was linked incorrectly.

edit: WEAK! I posted at the same time as yeahwho.

My addition to it's incline to the top was minimal, it was already up there in the top three. As long as it's up there anyway, fucking hell I'm making it worse.

Monkey here on the east coast

As a pilot I can verify it is a monkey at a typewriter on every coast i've been to so far. But around the 1950's, when flying on instruments, it was not uncommon for an instrument to fail. A pilot in clouds or bad weather would then have a real dilemma, and not know which of the instrument readings to believe. So failure modes were developed that left no question that the instrument was inoperative....this was one of the solutions. The internet is tricky up here in the skies. i'll keep you posted on the status.

Alrightchall. Friendly Skies. (y)
