Well?

I have late been a fan of the bar soap, it leaves me feeling oh so much cleaner.

i use a moisturizing bar soap that has either shea butter or olive oil most of the time. occasionally i'll switch it up to the Jason Aloe Vera liquid body wash.

When I take a shower, I use a bar soap, but it all goes to the sponge I also use.

When washing my hands I prefer liquid soap though.

my step son uses Body Wash , he and the bath-room have a bad Old Man smell (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=old+man+smell) to it when he uses that crap

I use what ever is cheaper or whatever I thought looked nice at walllllymart. Body wash smells nicer, but then you have thar whole foam thingy you have to use.

Since we're talking about soap I gotta say that I woud never share a bar soap with anyone because most people tend to live hair there, specially pubic hair, eww, nasty!

Mine is always clean!

When I think of Ebony, I think of a magazine that most people do not read. When I think of Ivory, I think of a soap that floats.

This is one of my weaknesses--liquid bath soaps.
I take a few showers a day, so I use a lot of shower gel.

I love Bath and Body Works Coconut Lime
Verbena shower gel.

Packing for this trip, when I was conserving space by
counting the number of cottonballs I'd need and
bringing only that number and when I took out
band-aids and a comb to save space and weight (!)
I brought a full bottle of Coconut Lime Verbena
shower gel.

It's almost gone and I'm both happy and sad to
say that there are no Bath and Body Works stores
over here.

You freakin' hippy! Isn't that stuff like all-natural organic stuff? My mom went to Whole Foods and got me some Kiss my Face "shaving cream". It's basically thick soap that you still have to rub really vigorously to get any sort of cream-like consistency. Maybe they should learn to start killing baby animals to make their creams better.

And I go with Bar soap, Dial. It makes me squeaky-clean and fresh-smelling. I usually don't do liquid-soap, or Dove, because it makes me have the "Is it all washed off, or is it supposed to feel this way" feeling, which I hate. Not just for soap, but for conditioner too.

Body wash all the way...can't remember the last time I actually used a bar. I have really dry skin so bar soap just makes it worse (except for maybe dove), but I hate picking up the slimy bar. Then you have to bother with the wash cloth which I sometimes feel like it's grinding the dirt into my skin (plus more laundry (n) )...PLUS the body wash lathers up much better!

King PSYZ

Being I am a furry beast, I don't need a washcloth as the soap vs. hair acts like a giant loofa and does the lathering for me.

put on body oil afterward - pure shit, not baby oil or anything. i use almond oil, jojoba oil if i'm feeling fancy. either that or use a soap that's non-sudsing, one without sodium lauryl sulfate or laureth sulfate. i like Jason because that brand doesn't use SLS. it's harsh on the skin.

i always dropped the soap. so i switched after an unfortunate shower accident.

hmm thanks for the tip :D (as usual, you help lots :))

I don't know why, but my legs just LOVE to dry out super bad on me, as well as my feet, face, and hands. Everything else is fine for some reason.

I just do cause I hafta. Otherwise, I'd look awful and my legs, well, they'd look like the mohave desert.

I have to say one of the few features I like of mine are my legs. The shape anyway. The dry skin is another story.

you might want to take some oil internally - flax seed is best. tastes like butt, and it's hard giong down, but it's good for you in a lot of ways, and it really helps the skin. don't take it in capsules; liquid's better. maybe some extra vitamin E would help too. but really try to cut out the SLS and that might make an improvement.

if it's a REALLY big problem, try cutting dairy out for a few days and see if that makes a difference...my skin's been really nice ever since i went vegan, and it's definitely due to that.

monkey
08-12-2005, 02:22 PM
oh i cut dairy out and my skin got worse. i broke out and shit. i have to start drinking the milk again :(

and i love, love, love my legs. even though they're short, they're quite shapely. i only wear skirts in the summahtime. but, like i said, im really bad at the mosturizing thing. i just hate that most lotions have a smell, and i hate having more than one smell on me. yea... ok. :o

I've been trying out between the two trying to decide between the two. To me, a good bar soap wins hands down. The liquid stuff seems like it works well, but to me feels like it gives an artificial clean feeling.

but now that I think about it some more, it might be that the cheaper liquid soap might be losing out to the more expensive bar soap; don't know that I've tried the more expensive liquid soap to compare with the more expensive bar soap. For that matters it might be the same, anyone else to add to that?

Irish Spring is my pal.
The funny thing is, my girlfriend can't have Irish Spring aorund her house cause she's allergic.

But when I shower at my place with it she's a real big fan of the way it leaves me smelling right after. (y)

i would think dirty, matted hair would contradict that lifestyle option.

i like to be clean and / or smell good. i also brush my teeth at least 3 times a day and floss semi-regularly. do these things make me a closet metrosexual?

My gay friend showers daily and uses hair care product and takes half an hour to get everything perfect.

He, however, brushes his teeth once a month. And eats nothing but sugar. And man-meat. So whenever I talk to him, I keep thinking about how he hasn't brushed his teeth and probably has 3 men's penii on his breath at any given time.

Gross.

my gay friend sometimes doesnt shower for days. and boy, is he stinky sometimes. but he will call me out whenever i dont shower every 12-24 hours. his "sensitive nose" he calls it.

grr.

on the other hand, his boyfriend, and my future gay husband, is the best smelling man ie ever had the pleasure of fake humping.

moral of the story: there are clean homos and dirty homos. just like everyone else!

you see the problem in a ethical sense for any soap not in bar form is that you are paying for water to be shipped around the country.

That all I really have to say on the matter, except...

I haven't read anything but the first two posts of this thread so if anyone has said that then, I apologise...
