I had 42 beers...I went to a Beers around the World party last night and "sampled" 42 different beers in like 4 hours. Plus the 2 I had before we got there and the redbull/vodka I had at the end of the night cus I was getting "tired". I'm pretty sure we were only supposed to get like a half a glass of each one but for the first 15 or so I was drinking an entire beer. The morale of this story is if you booze you lose. Or that alcohol is cool not sure.

What beers were you drinking last night? I know theres too many to mention but any interesting ones/Australian ones :) I had somewhat of a "beers of the world" night last night except it was 5 different beer types whilst playing poker: VB (australian beer), corona, becks, carlsberg and stella.

Honestly I am not really sure. By the time we got around to the best label award where we actually got to see the beers I was pretty wasted. I can probably get a list on Monday though. The bulk of them were from Europe though, I got the Czech Republic and I brought Pils Urquell....I don't think I liked it though.

^ yeah it was either that or Budvar cus those were the only two Czech beers I knew of. I did pick up some sweet German beer at the beer mart with the new Pope on it. I didn't know he had any endorsment deals

Budvar is the best czech beer I reckon. Although I still think its overrated.
Pffft Pope Benedict is an old stickler, he really needs a few of his own beers so that he might lighten up a little ;)

Well yeah it is kind of a guy thing. There were a few wives and girlfriends there mostly as drivers but some of them drank. I did pee like every 5 minutes after like number 25 or so. Anyway I'm not even sure if this Pope beer is German or what. But here (http://photobucket.com/albums/v352/Loppfessor/Misc/?action=view¤t=beer.jpg) is what it looks like

OK, and I'm not calling you out, but, seriously...you are saying that you had roughly 30 beers plus a red bull/vodka in 4 hours? (The 2 beers earlier + 15 full beers + 27 1/2 beers= roughly 30 beers) You'd be dead from alcohol poisoning.

30 Beers isnt an alcohol poisoning amount provided you eat lots, are fairly well built, are male (sorry but its true), and space it out. 4 hours is enough time. Still, I bet you will feel seedy for a few days Lopp.

So, when should we set the funeral date for your liver?
Me? My dad's been drinking at a much faster rate than me and smoking and eating much more than me since he was 15 and now hes like 48, and hes only had 1 heart attack. No liver problems though (y)
I've never smoked, I'm relatively fit, so I figure that I'm clear on the heart attack.

Well it's not like I do this all the time. This is an annual event where I work and it's just good for morale and esprit de corps. It's a lot like a wine tasting but you don't exactly spit out the beer.

I don't know what kind of super human tolerance you have, but, I'm gonna have to disagree with you on that one. Seriously. At .5, you're body starts to shut down and you pass out as a means of attempting to prevent death. And 30 beers plus liquor in such a short amount of time could definately cause you're blood alcohol level to reach that level...hence, alcohol poisoning. And eatting a lot is for the most part a myth as far as being able to keep your blood alcohol level down...you maybe able to drink more and not feel sick, but alcohol poisoning is caused by too much alcohol being in you're blood stream and usually only time can cause it to go down...not food. I heard that eatting bread will soak up the alcohol out of your system...not true.

HAHAHAHA! That's too funny. I can't believe people would actually think that.
Seriously, you've never heard that before. I remember my freshman year in college, there was this dude that was hammered and seriously needed to go to the hospital and this dumb ass girl kept trying to get him to eat a sandwich. I was thinking, "Honey, a sandwich ain't gonna do the trick here."
staropramen is from the czech republic. it's a great beer.
pilsner urquell is good when it's on draft, but out of the bottle is just ok.
i'd be interested in seeing the list when you get a chance. i did a whole beers around the world thing once, but over the course of a few months. :) 100 of them, and american domestics didn't count.

in australia we have more practice at drinking copius amounts of alcohol, and we start at a younger age. alcohol bingeing is very do-able.
in one night, an average sized male could get through 30 beers. he'd be fucked, but it's very possible without dying.

Also, Anne isn't taking into account that not everyone has the same tolerance level. If someone drinks copious amounts of booze over a long period of time, they will be able to drink amounts that would have killed them before. And, as has been said earlier, a person's body type also is a factor.
