Does anyone know how to recover pics from the memory even if they've been deleted? I know it can be done somehow, cause there was this guy who sneaked a camera to the Beastie Boys promo gig here last year and the security noticed it later and deleted all the pics he'd taken, but later his friend could fix them back somehow. I don't think he posts here anymore so I can't ask him so I thought I'll take a shot here.

Paul, now that you're here: Do you know how much Memory Stick Pro 512MB would go for in retail over there?

Never tried it but if the file system on a memory stick is fat32 I don't see why you couldn't do it.
Not sure though... Did you try google?
Edit: I checked my own memory thing and that is FAT and not FAT32 so the software I have can't handle it. It could be that you can recover it either way though, as I said, try google.

If you access your memory stick from your pc it gets assigned a drive letter, right?
Right click on the drive letter and select "properties".
Tell me what's written next to "file system" and I'll see if I can find something for you.
Oh, have you written stuff on the card since you deleted the files you want to recover?

It says FAT by the filesystem, and yes I've taken pics since then, cause I needed more space last night and then I realised afterwards I hadn't saved the last pics I'd taken before that...

Ok, mine says FAT too and I managed to recover a few movies I made. (just as a test).
Was the card full and did you erase it completely?
If the card was full and you have made new pictures you have overwritten at least a part of the pictures. If you still have free space you might be able to recover some of them with the same software you use to recover deleted files from pc's.
I'll upload the file software somewhere and send you a pm with a link.

Thanks synch for all the help!
So there is a way to recover deleted pics (:p to McMac), but those that were overwritten already are gone.
