Last night I was walking along the streets of Stockholm and I realised once more how much I love this town!
It is absolutely beautiful! It was warm summer night, lights everywhere, music coming from different bars and the smell of warm summer air!
I walked from the fair ground (diLeva had played there, a guy who looks like the singer in Music with Polyphonic Spree gown singing about love and cosmic things, he's son is called Cosmo) along the Strand where the jet setters were showing off their huge boats and their BMW's and Hummer's parked at the docks. The lights reflecting from the water and the smell of salty air was just wonderful! There was these taxiboat piers with loads of couples sitting on the benches, so romantic!
Over the bridge to the old town there were some guys doing some night fishing (in what other capital in the world can you fish for edible fish in the middle of the city?) with the Royal Castle and some museums making a perfect backdrop. There was some boats coming back from a cruise with "Go Johnny, go go go" played by the band on board, tourists checking out their maps and the sound of the fountains by the castle.
I was on the way to Debaser, to the last sing-a-long night of this year (I bet they will do it again next year, because it was so popular) and the queue (http://img79.imageshack.us/img79/4187/sistanattenmedgnget9ol.jpg) was huge! It went all around the outdoor bar, up the stairs and round the statue on top. I had planned to take some nightshots of Debaser, but this surprised me totally! I've never seen such a queue there! I got my shots and noticed the queue moving quite rapidly after all so I decided I'll take a chance. After all it was only 10.45 pm and the band was gonna hit the stage at midnight. One hour later I was very close to the door, and by 10 to midnight it was totally packed so nobody would get in anymore. Debaser used to hold 385 people, but then they rebuilt the back to a new bar so now it holds 550. There was only 15 people in front of me on the queue.... If I just hadn't taken those photos.... I waited until quarter past just in case, but when I heard them play Last of the gang already I gave up and headed home.
