My mum does that. A stuffed tomatoe on the side of some bacon and eggs goes brilliantly. I'm not such a big fan of raw tomatoes by themselves, but in salads and stuff they can be good. Cherry/baby tomatoes, however, well I could eat them raw all day :)

I prefer raw tomatoes to cooked, but they have to be organic, non-organic make the corners of my mouth itch.
