and didn't take anything
there's even money still on the counter.
it looks like all that happened was: they messed up the back door a little, locked the dog in the bathroom, opened the garage, then closed it...and didn't take a thing. the nieghbors saw the garage door open and then closed later on. my friend was housesitting but not there today (because we just got home and all) and she feels so bad, but it's not her fault or anything.
and now my mom and sister are all freaked out. it's not like they live in a dangerous neighborhood...it's the freakin' suburbs.
:(
i'm glad nothing was taken and that no one was home when it happened.
it sorta leads me to wonder whether dickhead came into town and broke in looking for you. no chance of that, is there?

that reminds me when i was visiting my grandparents, we got home and had been informed that the house was robbed through the cell phone (the people from the house alarm system call you if somethings up),it was nite time and we went into the house all careful since maybe they were still in there...so when i go to the back of the house where my grandfather was checking things out, i see him with this freaking shotgun in his hand aiming just in case...gladly the robbers werent there when we got home.
getting robbed makes you feel scared in your own house, and you basically feel theres no place where you can be at ease anymore...all you need is time to help you get that feeling back once again, like everything i suppose.
edit-shit that doesnt make any sense does it, ill make those wrongs a right.

most likely it was just kids being idiots. apparently there's been a rash of eggings and broken mailboxes in the neighborhood (our next-door-neighbors included). if it was someone really into theivin', he/she would easily have found my mom's brand new IBM notebook, the loose money on the counter, the other computers, the stereos...so most likely that's all it is. still, it's scary. the worst is that my little sister has just barely been getting adjusted to being home on her own (she's almost 13 and ever since my dad died has been paranoid about that, especially after the whole thing with my ex breaking in), and now she's terrified.
and no, it's definitely not my ex breaking in. he's in florida and knows i don't live there anymore.

Gremlins, thieves would of kicked the dog and took the money.
Once you said the money was left alone and the dog was locked in the closet it became apparent you have a gremlin problem.

Damn, you shouldn't have fed Gizmo after midnight.
P.S. - That is WEIRD. Better to have everything intact and nobody harmed, but still... Is your mom going to invest in a security system or anything, Cosmo?

yes, she decided to do just that. she and my sister will rest a lot easier after that.
they spoke to the police, and the cops think that if someone was in the house he or she would have at leasted messed things up, and that it's possible that our dog locked herself in the bathroom...but that doesn't explain the garage door. i really think it was just some neighborhood kids that got scared off.

u grow weed?
ofcourse !!! :D
maybe i missed the answer, but what kind of dog was it?
you said the back door was messed up, right? that would certainly seem to indicate a break in.
we used to have a problem with our garage door, it would open on its own shortly after closing it...we first discovered this after coming back from a week long vacation out of state, quite a scare i must say. but then it happened again and again and it just really became more annoying than anything else. it didn't close itself, though.

^Lame.
Actually many disabled (or "lame" as you put it) people do grow and smoke weed in order to ease their pain. In fact, in many places it is prescribed as a medical treatment of multiple sclerosis. Is that what you were implying? :) (y)
Louise: do you have MS?

My mum said somebody had broken into her flat last winter. She could feel it when she got in through the door. There'd been some papers missing by the phone and there was footsteps in the snow from her backdoor outbounds. I don't know if she even realized to call the police.
Also there's a story that goes around here that there was these girls who'd been to some sunny vacation spot and they could see that somebody had been in their hotel room. Nothing was missing, but there'd been some shots taken on their camera. When they developed the film back at home there was some guys with their toothbrushes up their arses....
