if you look real hard, you can get the regular for about $2.34, but most places are in the mid 40's

i saw somewhere, that profits for the oil companies are up 50 some percent. the price of crude oil hasn't changed all that much, but it sure seems like it...

$2.69. It cost $43 to fill my car.

So what exactly is Bush getting for being the Saudis' bitch? He got them to keep prices low before the election right? That's what their guy said on CNN.

So when did British Petroleum buy Amoco and why are they pretending they didn't? I got something in the mail saying that the BP meant "best price" or "best petroleum". But you know what? I've been to Europe. It's the same logo and color scheme. Do they think we'll all go apeshit if we find out that the chain that descended from our biggest robber baron is in "foreign" hands?

$1.13 per litre and still rising. I'm glad I didn't end up buying a car this summer.

What type of gas are we talking here? We have unleaded petrol which is like $1.15 per litre and diesel which is $1.20 per litre and LPG which is 40 cents per litre.

Prices in Australian dollars :)

Our average is 90p a litre at the moment. We always get fucked with petrol prices mind...

anyone else enjoying the rise in gas prices? as far as i'm concerned, the majority of people who use cars don't need to use cars.. although there are exceptions

What country are you in? I'd love to use public transport, but unless you live in Greater London you're shafted.

i live in montreal - average sized city with averaged public transport - i live outside the downtown core

that's my point though, if using public transport means that you have to travel 2 hours per trip instead of 20 minutes - then i think using a car is justified.

however.. too many people (in my city) use a car, when the public transport system is adequate for most people

2.81 is the cheapest I've seen and that's down the road from my house. The highest grade has already hit 3.00+ dollars.

I always fill up when I'm down to 1.5 gallons. 3 years ago, for my Geo crappy Metro, I spent around 12-13 bucks each time to fill up.

Yesterday, I paid 25 dollars. TWENTY-FIVE!

I was a little pissed.

yes there are exceptions.

In San Diego, for example, public transportation is pure crap. It takes 2 hours by bus to get somewhere that is 15 minutes away by driving.

The trolley is good, but only if you work AND live directly on the trolley, and believe me, that's not many places at all.

You can aruge that people can use public transportation anyway, but there are not many people out there that want to get up an extra 2 hours early to make it to work or whatnot on time.

I've gotten super lucky because my school is on the trolley, student housing is on the trolley, and my job is on the trolley. I will not be driving much at all very soon and I'm happy about that (y)

My car costs £52 to fill up, that's nearly $100. Please stop your whining about having to pay $3 a GALLON for fuel. Petrol wasn't that cheap here when I started driving 15 years ago.

Fair enough, you have a valid point there. But my car is now for sale, purely because every time I have to fill it up (at least once a week) it really is like the government are ass-raping me. I considered getting a motorbike, but there are too many fuckwits on the road in my region, and I probably wouldn't last a week.

That is pretty shitty. I have a feeling things are going to get a lot worse everywhere in the next couple of years.

$1.16 a litre.

Ever noticed how fast the oil companies put the prices up when the price per barrel rises, but always say something like ' it'll take some time for the price drop to filter through to the consumer' or some such nonsense when the price per barrel goes down.
