I'm thinking about joining a new board, one based on a different band or an TV show or something - you know, where I'd be interested in talking about what the board is based on, instead of just random thoughts and such. The trouble is I don't follow any one band or show very closely.

His real name is John Mellencamp but when he decided to be a famous musician he wanted to reject his small town and his stage name was Johnny Cougar, though he claims this name was from his record company and he didn't choose it. Once he started having a few hits he changed his billing name to John Cougar Mellencamp, emphasis on the Mellencamp. When he wanted to grow up he started releasing albums as John Mellencamp to be taken seriously, and because he had sold enough albums to not need the Cougar anymore. At least this was my understanding. I hope this time I'm typing a lot AND saying something educated. :p
