I'm sure most of the people on these forums (being Beastie Boys fans) have tried skunk, coke, pills at some point in their lifetime, but has anybody here ever tried rocks or heroin? I've never heard from somebody who has done these two most addictive of drugs what it actually feels like. I mean, it must be pretty fuckin good to make you THAT addicted, right?

Anyone?

I don't think it's the 'feeling good' that gets you addicted, it's the feeling completely shit when you're not up on it that is the hallmark of addiction.

I never have. I remember in high school one of my home girls came in on Monday morning and was like "Yeah so I smoked some crack this weekend..." Cus for some reason she couldn't get a hold of any pot. Long story short I told her if she ever did it again I was going to beat the shit out of her....

When I see the heroin-addicted zombis hanging in the streets here, trying that shit is the last things that comes to my mind....
As for crack it seems that it's even worse. You could tell me they're better than anything else (doesn't someone in "Train Spotting" says it's better than sex??) I still wouldn't touch it.

I drew the line at acid. Done weed, speed, acid, possibly some others i can't remember / wasn't aware of, but never done ecstasy, coke, herion or anything like that. got close to trying ecstasy, but decided not to cause I know what I'm like, I'd be downing those things like peas on a plate (i'm sure there's gotta be a better analogy for that, i hate peas)

wrong Padster, i haven't tried those drugs and i don't intend too.

the worst i've done is weed, didn't like it, and that's where it stays.

people get into those drugs to look cool and fit it, then they get fucked on and become addicted. (n)

First time I tried weed was alone, in my bedroom. I was just curious. I'd heard all this stuff about it, so when a kid at school had some bags to sell, I thought, here's my chance! Freaked me out a bit, but I enjoyed it. The second time I did it was with a mate. I put bluetack on my fingers and said I was spiderman. We laughed. I think it was all downhill from there. Havn't had a cone in 2 days now. Getting ansy.

I've never done any drugs and I never EVER will. I saw my aunt on every drug possible, and she's done it sense she was 12. I've seen her on heroin too, and she looks fucked up and she breaks out and shit so I wouldn't try it. So really, there ain't no point in getting addicted to it. ;) Ok I have tried weed before, but that don't count.

same. I have plenty of relatives that serve as examples in regards to drugs. I rather not get at least 6 of my own kids taken away from me due to my drug habit. I know that not everyone goes down a road where it gets all that bad, but in my family, it tends to work that way. So I just stay away from it.

Also, "I don't use drugs, my dreams are frightening enough."

I find that people who have never tried drugs can't understand them. No offence to all youze who are like "staying clean for life" or anything but drugs themselves really aren't a bad thing, you realise that after you've tried a few of them. It's just some people don't suit drug-taking or it can help their bad side to come out. Bottom line: drugs don't make you a loser, but if you're already a loser then they definitely make it worse.

Anyway, so no one these boards has done rocks or brown? That sucks. I guessed that about 50% of the people on here smoke crack.

Word.

So I guess I'll be the only one to admit it. I did smoke crack once. out of a light blub no less. Ghetto. and even though I did it once, that makes me a crack smoker. :( Anyway, there was nothing memorable about it and it really didn't do much for me except make me feel shitty. that's why I never did it again.

I have no interest in heroin. My uncle spent a majority of his adult life in jail becasue of it and has major health problems as an added sideeffect. 2 months ago my 19 yr old nephew OD'd on the stuff and I'm still in shock cause I didn't know he was using. The only way you are eve going to see me doing heroin is if I have a terminal disease and I want to off myself quickly.

How many drugs have you tried?

I used to pop down twenty of those Flintstone Vitamins in 10 minutes. I did this three times every day. I think I got my drugs credential from that.
I only asked because the fact you associate drug use with low self esteem suggests that you know very little about the effects of drugs. They do not make you happy, they simply enhance whatever feeling you have whilst taking them. So if you had low self esteem and you did drugs, it would just make it worse.

When most normal people do drugs, it is because they are happy and want to have a good time. (y)

Not essentially. Only in extreme cases eg. for homeless or clinically depressed people. And that's only because they are better than the real world.

exactly. Let's not delude ourselves, but instead recognize that that a good majority of our most cherished classic literary works, some of our most treasured movies, paintings and of course music, were all conceived by people who were on drugs. and some of them were/are downright addicts.

if you want to explore what I'm talking about further there is a book called "writing on drugs" by Sadie Frost, who "explores the history of drugs and drug use through the work of some of our most revered and infamous writers." it's an excellent read. (y)

I never did any of those things to impress a chick. I'd read this book about drugs from my school library in the 6th and I'd wanted to do them ever since. I was always interested in the psychadelic aspects, sort of like dreaming while you're awake. I was interested in listening to music and hearing it in different ways. That kind of thing. The first time I smoked pot, me and my friend had set it up with food and great music played on his bose speakers which was insane. Afterwards he got on his drum set and I picked up the guitar and we jammed out for like an hour. I'm not a defender of using drugs, but I do agree with people who say that you don't get it if you haven't tried it.

i had read a scientific book that described the effects and what you would feel and it sounded good to me. and they all were pretty good in different ways, however i recognize the traps in drugs. I would never encourage anyone to try them, but i'm glad i did.

EDIT: I would encourage people not to try them - i know myself and knew i would be able to just try them. That was a big risk because everyone thinks they're stronger than drugs - i think i was just lucky.

Having used quite a few drugs I don't condone the use of them, but if you going to try them its best to know something about them.

It's probably also best not to make any value judgments about the people who use drugs and their reasons for doing so if you don't know what you're talking about.

It aint a matter of impressing people dude. In my circle of friends, drugs aint no thang. We have skunk pretty much every day and I have friends who do the occasional line of charlie or drop an X, but it aint a big deal. Drugs are just something we do. Shit, there isn't much else to do around where I live so it just makes life more interesting.

None of my friends nor I had ever any problem with pot/weed, but I can't say that about coke. I tried it twice and that's it, most of my friends became addict to coke more or less seriously, and that really sucks, fucked up their lives quite bad for a while and it took them time to recover. Started out as a line from time to time, then at least once a month, then every weekend and finally daily. I know very few people who take C just from time to time without starting to get some on a regular basis.
I have tried different drugs and liked most of them (hated ecstasy), but I consider myself quite lucky that I just became addict to pot/weed for a few years and then stopped smoking nearly completely. At that time I thought that being high for the most part of my day was making my life funnier and more exciting, now I feel better being clean during the day and have my weekend booze (ok, quite frequent :D ) or rare joint when I feel I want to be stone (rare).

I heard from a close friend who was messed up on H for a couple of years that it "feels like being hugged by Jesus Christ". He was going through a lot of personal problems (his girlfriend died in a car accident) and was looking to numb himself. For people who have problems that they feel are insurmountable, it lets them not care.
