View Full Version : before i go....
is there anyway PS2's can play different-region dvds? do the mod chips allow that (the same mod chips that allow burnt games to be played)?
like for example; i can't play some metallica dvds cause they're a certain region.

yes the mod ships let you do that....at least the ones they install off base here in Songton (Republic of South Korea) do.

Sony are a pain. They actually make PS2's that will play everything and then add all software later to block certain regions for certain parts of the world and burnt DVD's and CD's. They spend money to stop this.
So like mcmac said, you can hijack the software without chips. They all do the same and are pretty fail safe cus Sony don't protect them that well :)
