This weekend I'm off to do a wildlife survey in World Heritage rainforest. We're gonna catch a whole bunch of possums and frogs and bats and lizards and shit. Its gonna be pretty sweet, a fuckin fine way to spend the weekend.

(y) That sounds really cool, have a great time!

A fellow science teacher I used to work with has spent a couple of summers tracking grizzly bears in northern Canada in a similar monitoring project; he really enjoys it.

That's cool (y) I'd be down for some of that given the opportunity

When do you do the trapping, mostly at night?

Yeah, mostly. The traps are set in the late afternoon and checked in the morning to minimise the impact on wildlife. The lead up to it's a bitch cause of all the hoops you have to jump through to be allowed to go out and do it. But when you pull a sugar glider out of an Elliott Trap, its pretty sweet.
