A real loss to British politics.

When I first moved here, she was at the beginning of her public battle with cancer and I remember seeing her on TV for the first time and thinking, whoa, who is that woman? And the more I read about her and watched her work, the more impressed I was.

Coming so close after Robin Cooke's death as well, it's quite sad; two politicians with real humanity and integrity, what a shame.

Was just about to post something on this – She was a very brave woman and a fantastic politician.

She managed to find a peaceful way forward in Northern Ireland that actually worked. If only there were more people like her in politics then we might not find ourselves in the mess we are right now.

Quite a good article on bbc for those who are unfamiliar with her.
