I've always wondered what certain avatars are of for some people, so I thought it may be neat for everyone to explain their own.

So basically... what's your avatar consist of and why did you choose it? For those who commonly change their avatars, what sorts of things do you like changing it to?

Anyways, for me, I guess my avatar is fairly obvious. It's of James Dean and I went with that avatar since I've been on a Dean kick, especially since this year is the 50th anniversary of his death and "East of Eden" is a more underrated movie, especially when compared to "Rebel Without A Cause."

I like vintage stuff and my previous avatar was of Hank Williams. Perhaps I should go with Frank Sinatra next...

Public Image Ltd. logo. It's the band that John Lydon of former Sex Pistols got into. It was the total opposite of punk. They created very good albums that were way ahead of their times. Only now it seems they are getting the true respect they deserve. Only now are people catching up to them.

I usually go with black and white avatars that are very interesting in their design or of an interesting person.

I have been on this MB for over a year now and I think I have had only four avatars in that time. My first one was a picture of the Blues Brothers. From there I went to a cartoon picture of this hip-hop B-boy with baggy red pants and then I switched to a cartoon face that said "Girls are evil-crazy, too!"

I can't remember who my current avatar came from but a while back someone posted some cartoon sketches by a Spanish cartoonist whose name escapes me now. Mine is a picture of an African American child standing on the banks of the East River in NYC. He has an easel and a sketch pad in front of him and in the background is the Statue of Liberty. But on the sketch pad you can see that he drew a picture of a clown.

It took me a few seconds to get this when I first saw it but when I did.......damn, it was good!

The message behind the cartoon is that freedom, equality and all that other shit that the Statue of Liberty is supposed to represent is a complete joke to him because none of that shit exists for him due to the color of his skin.

I love this avatar and I don't think I will ever change it.
