I've noticed whenever something is quoted, something that looks like an IP address crops up randomly within a sentence.

Just thought I'd let you know.

I saw it in the first post of a thread once. I was going to ask what it was about but I was a bit mehish about it.

So it's not just when it's quoted text.

Hmm. Weird. It doesn't seem to be the board doing that. It must be client-side.

This (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showpost.php?p=959329&postcount=1) is where I first noticed it.

yeah definitely sounds weird. especially since the ip address is the same for the quote in this post and in the link you just dropped. but maybe they both were from the same user.

Amazingly the word electrolysis hasn't been used very much on the board :D

Probably a client thing on her specific pc. You might want to delete the IP's if they are actually hers though.

edit: Checked it, it's not a dutch IP, shouldn't be hers. Crap, curious whose it is now, I miss my mod panel :(

yeah it's a british ip. anyway we'll have to just leave it like that since i highly doubt there's anything we can do from the board side of things.

Yeah, I quoted myself as an example and I'm British, innit admin clarts?

Also, I think I saw it on an mp-seventythree post, who is also British, by the way.

yeah but the hits for the ip address don't match neither of your ip's.

Noukie's thread starting post contained the same IP and she's in holland but the IP is a british dialup account, that's the bit that doesn't make sense :)

Tpk should be able to check if it belongs to anyone on this site and I assume he's already done that.

Well, I guess we can leave this there then. I'm assuming it's a client-side script which is adding that text to input text boxes in the browser. We can't help with that unfortunatley. Nerd up.

unless our new e-19 module update interfered with the K.O.A.L. system we constructed last month. but that sounds a bit far off since they only use binary to interact.
