oh it was nice. i watched all of it. it tied up everything, it all looked nice. the last 10 minutes was a very appropriate way to end that series.

i might have shed a tear. maybe.

Oh yeah. The part I saw was beautiful, and I can't wait to see the whole episode. But after coming home from the pub, I sort of wish I hadn't watched it. :(

But I can't wait to see the whole thing. Must remember the tissues!

I read a really acurate spoiler about that before, so I was prepared. But it was still soooo sad, even though he was an ass towards the end.

And Maya is such a cute little girl. :o

oh i had no clue. all of the sudden im like... holy shit holy shit. i called up my friend and asked her why did nate have to die. and she laughed at me and said it's only the tv. but i honestly felt attached to that gorgeous, troubled man.

I dropped HBO and scaled way back on all cable after Sex and the City ended. I couldn't cut HBO till then. I loved that show. Fuck anyone who disagrees.

I loved the first two seasons of that show. HBO got cut after that, but we got it back later. too much had happened in the mean time, so I couldn't just jump back in. I'm getting the DVDs as they come out, though.

Nate died? sad, but expected.

That show fell off severely after the second season. It was still good, but it seemed like a lot of the plot elements in the third season and on became meaningless and went nowhere. Take all that shit about Nate going to see the psychic after Lisa died for example. I thought that was something that was going to be greatly expanded upon and it turned out to be total filler. The same can be said about most of the content in the past 3 seasons (oh woopty fucking do! Claire's a lesbian for a week!).

One of the things that started to bother me about the show was how the writers pretty much stopped using the deaths at the beginning of each episode as a theme. As the show progressed, the idea of death, which was what made the show so refreshing and original, sort of got obscured by all the melodrama. Random people still died at the open of the show, but it was no longer significant as far as the progression of the plot.

I figured that was a draw, that he wouldn't actually die there. guess I was wrong.

I absolutely loved the way it ended. In fact, I think it
was one of the best series finales if not the best finale
I've ever seen.

It was an appropriate series of endings so to speak.

Slight spoilers ahead...

I went back and watched each ending a few times to see
things like Keith and David's sons grown up and
with their own partners. I saw photos of people
(like maybe Brenda's second marriage). I looked closely
at the death dates and thought about how long each
one survived in relation to the death of the mother
and Nate and each other.

I loved it and it didn't depress me at all--it made me
want to find every single person that I know like that
and give them a long hug.

SPOILERS HERE...

I wanted to look something up about the show, so I went to the HBO
site and I came across this (http://www.hbo.com/sixfeetunder/obituary/episode63.shtml), obituaries for Ruth, Keith, David, Rico,
Brenda, and Claire. It's interesting reading. (Although they only list the
birth and death date for Claire--none of the other birth/death dates are listed.
I wonder if that means something.)
