View Full Version : Who Loses?

Really, which gender has it the worst?

I think that women have it worse than us, and that's without resorting to the whole 'menstrual' argument. You might bleed for a week; we go bald, our assholes get plundered by young doctors when we're old, and we have intrinsically fallible egos.

I think the pissing contest that males exist in is worth acknowledging, though. You can see it in how some people post here, even. Being smarter or funnier than others (if i were lumped in there, sheesh, what a compliment!), but more in the demands placed on men for not only their appearance, but unrealistic emotional/psychological expectations. And projecting an image of success or confidence so unrealistic that anybody who believes it has probably never really looked in the mirror. And before guys can go feeling too bad about it, we can say the word 'pussy' to other guys, or say 'I'd fuck that' like we have a say. It just takes one passing female.

You can have a few beers, have a laugh and pretend there's nothing wrong, because mostly none of your friends would notice if there was.

So maybe women have it better, then, because they decide whether or not the monkeys get to swing on the branch. But then, three teenage girls in bikinis ( politley disguised underwear) on the cover of a magazine with little journalistic need for a 'bikini expose' leads me to think otherwise. It's probably a man's world. You have to wonder why people feel the need to be 'attractive', and for who's direct benefit it serves.

But then women are cutting each other down, based on looks, or the parts of their personality crucial in determining like-ability. Guys do it too, but it makes no difference. Every guy who wants to wind up with a partner will achieve just that, some women I've met actually face the fear of that not happening.

i've always been a firm believer than chicks have it worse.
pregnancy, periods, PMS.... (what's with the p's?)

And yet somehow we manage, makes you wonder if there's an upside to balance things out, ya know?

And pregnancy is empirically a bad thing? That's news to me.

i never said it was bad, mang.
but... pushing something the size of a footy out of my pisser; i can't say that would be a great feeling

I wonder how it compares to living with the fact that you're a lost generation of fuckups no one expects decent fatherhood from.

I wonder how many females feel genuinely sympathetic to the plight of males?

My sympathy is tainted by my ownership of a penis, anyways.

Right?

I feel sympathy for the male, on a case by case basis.

Depends on what time of life the person is in. in my opinion Young boys have it better vs. old women have it better.

But ultimately, out of the species, who has it worse?

Do you feel a need to over-compensate?

Or do you prefer to be aloof? (Not so aloof as to be completey unaware of what's happening, though).

Did I sound like I was crying for anything?

Are you interpreting what I said as some insult against Australians?

The need to feel badass and gangsta must be part of the society's expectations on men that Kid mentioned. I'm sure the children of famous musicians also feel talented and successful.

Anyway, I think we all lose, women, men, transexuals..."worse" is subjective. It can always be worse.

Name some cases, case by case.

It was a statement of a present and ongoing sentiment, like "I like cheese" or "I laugh at funny movies" and you're asking me for examples. Well shit okay I feel sympathy for the friend of the guy I'm dating, who got addicted to heroine and is trying to get clean but he's all sick and miserable and he knows its his own fault and he's growing up a lot. I feel sympathy for the 15 year old guy at the clinic last year when he got molested by his uncle.

Statistically, it's not a 50/50 split population wise, and knowing humans, it can't be a level playing field.

I've never wanted to be a guy really, and the times when I wished for a moment to be a guy, are less than the times I was consciously glad to be a dame. Whabouchoo?

Im not smart enough to understand those other lines but to answer the question i would probably say females have it worse overall.

I think next we should have a thread about whether it's better to be white or black. That would be fun!

Glad to be a guy, but that also bore the feeling that in this society, I'm glad to not be a woman.

See, this is one of those times when I feel I need an 'I'm being facetious' emoticon.

Although I suppose it would be enlightening (pardon the pun) to see a list of reasons why it's better to be one or the other.

I don't think I'd mind what I am as long as I'm healthy and happy.

See, I think it's too subjective to say that one is always better than another. We have nothing to compare it to. Unless you say it is better to be a woman in one society or another, or better to be a man etc. We are each unaware of what it really means to live as the other gender, from the inside and outside.

How are they so different?

Us guys been trying to hold women down for a long time. Even girls with 'Guy Friends' should be aware that said 'guy friend' prolly wants some, and thus, doesn't strictly consider her equal.

This isn't me, it's biology.

But Kid, why is that bad for the woman? She is who she is, wouldn't it be better to be a good person in a bad place than a bad person in a good place. I don't think she is any more a victim of her society than the oppressive man who acts in an insincere way towards women.

Then you get it. What you think about that post may lend a clue. If you feel the way you do Nuzz, perhaps you could imply that the man is worse off for being a slave to his istincts, and has little value beyond his need to procreate.

Conversely, the whole 'woman=object' argument applies.

Am i missing my own point?

If I was a man, I would feel embarrassed just by the fact that I was a man.:D

It's like there was this big evolution and men still don't realize we are actually civilized people. :p

Sticking feathers up a woman's butt doesn't make her a chicken...although she might like it.

It's just so hard to tell. http://sportsmed.starwave.com/i/magazine/new/swingers_trailer.jpg
