Around 5-hundred people were gathered at the park, with many of them coming from The Salt Palace where they began protesting earlier this morning.

Yeah, that five hundred member moral majority

Ever since Bush said he had a mandate from his majority, I'm totally confussed.

Actually, I was referring to the fact that the leader of the moral majority was the main one doing the protesting. It's like if the pope came out and denounced Bush.

Oh wait. Already been done.

Doesn't really matter who protests against him. Unaccountability reigns supreme in the Bush administration. You can, in fact, be promoted for fucking up. They laugh at us sheep whilst they divvy up that 9 billion dollars that went missing.

[As] Bush spoke...to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, while three blocks away about 2,000 people gathered to protest Bush administration policies and the war in Iraq.

[But it was] Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson addressed both the VFW convention and the protest.

Anderson told the crowd that people were afraid of what they had to say and they're "not going to take it anymore."

The mayor ended his speech by saying "it's up to the people to keep speaking up and this is a turning point for our nation here today in Salt Lake City."

``The message we want to send is that we are behind our troops, we care very much about our troops. That if their lives are going to be put on the line, they are going to be put in harm's way, that we're told the truth and our nation hasn't been told the truth,'' Anderson said.

Chants of ``Rocky!'' followed Anderson as he took the podium at the anti-war rally.

``Those who take a stand ... who stand up to deceit by our government. Those are true patriots. You are true patriots,'' Anderson said.

Yeah, that five hundred member moral majorityIt's been upped to 2000. Even at 500 that's a lot considering Utah is the reddest state in the nation. It was the only state in the US that bush won every county in 2004.
