Remember that old Sega Megadrive (Genesis) game Streets of Rage? Remember the ace soundtrack? No? Well you should becasue it rocked, and it rocked so much that I decided to make a mash up between the music from SOR's first level and Triple Trouble.
Comments as usual please.

I appreciate the 'kitsch' factor of it, but would
have to agree with Spaniel on this one...

also agreed. needs a low end that you can't get out of this. fun, but only for about one play.
also, a little fast for my tastes. if you got the words speed up without losing pitch, you could have done the same for the music (and it would be even more funky)

No, didn't have to sign up to anything to download it.
I like it a lot though but that could be because I've played the streets of rage games extensively :)

Wouldn't be a bad thing to try.

No, he's suggesting you keep the lyrics at the original speed and slow down the music :)
Might ruin the effect though.
edit: by the way, I believe the US name for Streets of Rage was Bare Knuckles.
Just a bit of trivia for ya ;)

Heh, weird. On the gamespot page (http://www.gamespot.com/genesis/action/bareknuckle3/) the game is called "streets of rage" and the link is called bare knuckle.
I thought that was the US name. Ah well :)

Ah! Makes sense. Cheers!
Are you going to do more obscure mega drive mash ups? :D

its something ive thought about doing for a while actually. ive used a few samples from megadrive games in a couple if tracks ive done before but i've never actually made a mash up from one. it was just the other day when i was playing streets of rage on an emulator that i realised that it would be quite amusing to make a mash up with the music. i think i probably will make another one in the future, maybe with some sonic the hedgehog music or something lol

:D
I have quite a few original carts lying around. Always wanted to sample a few. Using an emulator might result in better quality though...

sign up to edgeemu.com (http://www.edgeemu.com/) they have practically every megadrive game around and download the 'gens' emulator, it will rip tracks prefectally, plus you can remove elements from tracks (for example remove everyone and just leave the beat) by messing around with the sound emulation options.
