Just picked up "The Roots Come Alive" only to find that in the liner notes they state:

"I'm proud to say that we have the prime "sound designers" in the business. Before Richard "Dix" Nichols and Kenyatta "Kelo" Williams our sound was dry and nondescript, simply because sound men didn't view their job as an art (well except maybe Pink Floyd's sound guy and Mario C., who hooks up the Beastie Boys sound lovely).

A very well-deserved compliment to the C. Furthermore, the album is fuckin' dope with great performances and guest appearances by Common and Jill Scott.

And for anyone who's interested ?uestlove is playing at the Jazz Cafe, London this fri and sat nites. Its a dj set, not live drumming thou. Should still be good!

Fuck, just noticed on their meeanfiddler.com, De La Soul are playing 7 dates at the Jazz Cafe, with the X-Ecutioners joining them on 24th Sept! That has got to be worth while

mario c only ever co-produced work with the Beasties like everyone else, he never soley did any of their records...however I'd have no objections to the Beasties hooking up with him again, they work well together :)

They work well whatever though, no matter who they're with or whether they're on their own, so I'm not too bothered. I like Questlove's work but that's just one man's opinion on TT5B.
