hip hop is a culture
Goth is about the music, not the clothes! The music!
but would Bauhaus be Bauhaus without the leather and fishnets?
short answer: no with an if. Long answer: yes with a but.

it's the truth...
hiphop is:
1. rap music
2. graffiti
3. break dancin'
I like to see someone in hot pink and neon green claim to be goth because he or she listens to music that goths label goth.
they actualy have a label for Goths like that. It's true. it has to be. I read it in Spin

Yeah, it's imbeciles.
Yeah, it's imbeciles.
It's like Ravergoth or Futuregoth or something dumb.
actually, it's Cybergoth (a.k.a. Graver). It's paired with Deathrockers, Victorian Goth, Rivethead Goth, Glam Goth, and Geek Goth. It's a pretty dumb article.

Hip-Hop is the culture(the clothes, graffiti, DJin), rap the sub-culture...

I'm still wondering how this started out a hip hop thread, turned into a goth thread, had just a dash of hip hop, then more goth, then back to hip hop.

Exactly what I was gonna say. When somebody asks me what music I listen to I say rap, not hip hop. Cuz hip hop includes all these elements, rap, djing, beatboxing, breakdancing, graffiti, style...it's a culture. Sorry if I'm being "gay" or whatever. :D

i don't listen to rap like 50cent and shit, because that's so commercial! i'm so hip-hop. they just talk about gunz and hoez.
