This weekend aussie youth radio station triple J are hosting their impossible music festival weekend, a collection of live sets frm artists over the last decade or two, and naturally, the beasties make an appearance, along with several other great groups.

Beasties are 10AM on Saturday morning (although surprisingly it's their 1995 set). The full schedule is here: http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/livemusic/ and from that link you can also get a streaming web broadcast of the station, so you can tune in if you work the times out :D

Enjoy

Beasties are on in less than 20 minutes. I'll try Silent Bob just in case, it doesn't make a decent recording tho...

yeaaahhhh! its on now! and i was at this show! its a shame they dont put in the bit where they were about 5 mins late counting in the new year. when they did, beck and the foo fighters and jawbreaker and pavement all ran onto the stage. it was a fucking brilliant night. im dreading getting up at 5am to record the interpol one tomorrow morning :(

mike and money mark just commented on each others sexiness

shame my stream messes up every 30 seconds...it has to be at its worse for the Beasties! I loved the mellow Pass The Mic though...or at least the mellow beat.

Either way it sounds a real good show so far, and that sounds awesome Kezz (y)

edit: well they've played the first 7 songs on that earleir setlist...i sadly forsee the hardcore stuff being cut first, i hope i'm wrong!

im a bit pissed off. i was under the impression that they were going to play full hour sets and therefore not cut anything out! dammit!

the stream here in the states sucked, pitiful....i was going to wiretap the audio onto my mac, but after a few minuts i said fuck it and went back to finishing up my yard work....

they should put out a live box set, one perfect concert from each tour...that would be the shit

Yeah, the whole Triple J recording from that day is out there somewhere. I have it on tape somewhere and converted it to MP3 years ago. I think some other guys did too. So it should be around, perhaps on the hub?

gaselite
08-26-2005, 07:55 PM
ahhhhhhhhh missed it, but by the sounds of it I didn't miss out on much... still :p Probably would have been better on the radio itself

Anyway, yeah, a live boxset would kick much arse

midzi

I didn't have any problems with the stream.

The quality of the recording is good. :)

If it was on the hub I would get it from there instead of staying up late at night to record it.

I like Mike's 'Tical' styles all through the show. And the whole Frankie Cutlass thing.

The 1999 Horden Pavillion show? Yeah, I have that on VHS somewhere. I'll have to take a look and maybe try and rip a digital copy of it when I get a moment.
