No, because it is his best. The beats sound cheesy and dated nowadays, but he's never made a better album. Lick The Balls and Mona Lisa still sound excellent, though.

Yeah, it is his best. Most Def Jam albums from the mid to late 80's sound cheesy now. Radio, Nation of Millions, Licensed to Ill, etc. They are classic albums, but now they're almost an aquired taste.

Teenage Love is still a good song.

It Takes A Nation doesn't sound the least bit cheesy to me. But yeah, The Great Adventures really does, as long as you're not focusing on the lyrics (which are timeless anyway.)

don't get me wrong the great adventures is an excellent album....but behind bars takes the best bits of the great adventures and just makes a better album. Go have a listen to both you will see ;) the beats off behind bars are all crazy too while only a few off great adventures are good

If you compare 'Nation of Millions' to 'There's a Poison Goin On,' it does sound a little cheesy, even though it is better.

Nah, I much prefer that '80s hip-hop sound to a lot of what's passing for hip-hop in the mainstream today.

I once commented on how awesome Run-D.M.C. is to a friend of mine and he just went: "They're ok. But they're a bit too old school for me."

WHAAAAT?!?

P.S. - I just got EPMD's "Strictly Business" last night. Should be good times. :)

I meant someone who only listens to new rap. If all you listen to is g-unit, Def Jam might sound cheesy to you, even though you're an idiot.

Not talking about you either.

I guess it depends on what you're used to hearing. if you watch 106 & Park religiously, Run-D.M.C. is going to sound cheesy to you. on the other hand, if the last rap you ever listened to was courtesy of Yo! MTV Raps, then the latest 50 Cent single will sound like a cheese factory.
