You can make real phone calls with this thing or what? I haven't heard a whole lot about it.

Oh, wait a minute, I have the internet... I guess I'll go over to Google and check it out for myself.

GAIM Handles most protocols. I only use it for msn and occasionally to talk to avignon on yahoo.

You like tabbed browsing...? Well... now you can have... tabbed IM'ing! :D

linky (gaim.sourceforge.net)

Is this google thing any good then? Friend of mine mentioned it to me but I never bothered checking it out.

Dammit, I already use my gmail account as an MSN passport. I'm just gonna pretend there is no Google messenger, 'kay?

You can also not use tabs. In fact, I think that's default.

Not sure though.

i tried using some program so that i could log onto aim and msn with one thing, and it was all tabs. i didnt like the fact that i didnt know who was talking to me. i like to shuffle my windows around the screen in a very systematic way.

You can even have a window with tabs and drag the tabs onto your desktop and vice versa.

It's fun. No ads. Less prone to virusususes.

I used something like that for the first time ever earlier in the month
when I was travelling. I used Yahoo Messenger and it worked fine.

I would have felt a little disconnected without it.

The only problem was that on my laptop, the little emoticon icony
things were tiny looking and sometimes I sent the wrong one by
accident. Like when I thought I was sending one that was oozing
hearts, it was really an evil clown that morphed into something green
and blobby. Which nearly got me in trouble once and cost a bit of
money having to rectify things via a telephone.

Nothing says "I love you" like an evil clown that morphs into something green
and blobby.

i hope the oozing hearts were going out to your son so he would get embarrassed

I do do things like that to him. I roll down the window and say
I LOVE YOU SWEETIE to him when I drive by.

His friends just answer me back now. "We love you too <enree>."
I've been found out.

(I always told him from when he was a little boy that I'd get back at him
just like that for all the kicking he did to my ribs when I was carrying him.
I am just being true to my word.)
