*crosses fingers*yes maybe so :o, but we can't really ban a user completely unless we gets complaints from everyone. i banned the alias cause it was completely pointless.

I think it wasn't so much an alias as a name change. He had the same MO as Spanishbomb. I guess he should have told you to close down the first one when he started the second.

becuase Sandinista!'s is an alias whose posts only consisted of bashing on other people's taste in music.

Let's evaluate that by hopping on the Way Back machine:

Upon reaching 1,989 posts, I ditched this name and chose the Sandinista! moniker. The intent of such a move was to solidify my position of "Nothing after 89."

Said move was solidified in a thread which explicitly stated how Spanishbomb808 was to be put away permenantly in favour of the new name.

And, given how Spanishbomb808 was not used for posting purposes during Sandinista!'s 1000+ posts, it seems that the move was a success.

Thus, to say that the name is an alias is incorrect; it was replacement.

Next, to say that "bashing" was the only purpose is nonsense. I also went about cruising the various threads in other sections and also commenting whenver I deemed it worthy. Granted, there is a bias for pre-1989 tunes, but said bias is frequently aided by suggestions that will enhance the experience of others.

I rest my case.

Liberate Palestine, un-ban Sandinista!!

sandi/spanishbomb, you have not responded to you being a one-trick pony though.

and way to talk down to an admin -- keep it up by all means

Ahem, as I just stated:

I also went about cruising the various threads in other sections and also commenting whenver I deemed it worthy.

Sue me for feeling a tad aggravated about confronting a petty situation that shouldn't have even arisen due to the fact that this particular name was supposed to be buried already (for Chrissakes... I have 1000+ posts as Sandinista!... isn't that proof enough that I've been adhering to that one).

spanishbomb, what are your other interests?

Iguanas, arranging my CDs in chronological order, electric guitar tones, liner notes, reading non-fiction material concerning Muslim Spain, keeping my CDs clean, my mp3 player, marinara sauce, accents (in both English and Spanish) and the interweb.

aight i'm gonna drop this again.

you were using two usernames at the same time at one point, and you have registered for two usernames which are both active. i banned the user Sandinista! since the user's posts consisted of bashing on other people's opinions in music, and for most of the time the user wasn't respecting the "fellow board members". you still have one username you can post with, and it's not our (the admins) problem that you can't post as the specific user you wish to post as. the user was banned.

I would drop it if I were you, although it will be highly amusing if you don't because at some point tpk will realise that it isn't an annoying alias but an annoying user.

He banned your alias for being disrespectful to other posters' opinion. Think about that for a while.

spanishbomb/sandinistas posting style is not going to cease..

i say ban them both

another thing: whats to say half the posters here dont already dip "before 89"??

my entire catalogue is from pre-89 , i could probably count my favorite artists after 89 on one hand...

when a poster disses bands like Radiohead or Beck, he shows he has poor to no taste in good music and reveals an insecurity/character flaw...

when a poster disses bands like Radiohead or Beck, he shows he has poor to no taste in good music and reveals an insecurity/character flaw...though there's no such thing as a "good" taste in music since it's all induvidual. i'm not a fan of radiohead, though i wouldn't dis them because i can see what level they're working on and i understand why people like the music. but yeah anyway i know what you're trying to say.

YoungRemy

but of course...

this always baffles me, posters on message boards who come into a music thread to say "they suck"

STAY THE FUCK OUT OF THE THREAD IF YOU DONT LIKE IT!!

I concede that Ryan Adams's name's similarity to Bryan Adams is a mere coincidence, and not a byproduct of his inherent post-89 irrelevance.

Happy?
