yeah, i don't sugarcoat things anymore. it would just give my clients hope when some of them have none. being direct has spilled over into all aspects of my life now.

and when they put the cuffs on her and led her out of the courtroom, i started to cry. i went to visit her two days ago. she was surprised and happy to see me, and wanted me to know she hasn't cried once since she got to the jail.

at least she only has to do 23 days, and not the 6 months probation wanted her to serve.

You're a good lawyer, Beth.

Once this lawyer told me that in order to be a good lawyer you have to denfend your client even if he/she were guilty. I would agree with him if that wasn't so cruel.

This is perhaps the first time I've seen a dude quote Patrick Swayze from a line in Dirty Dancing.

Now, had it been a line from Road House, that'd have been perfectly acceptable because that movie kicks all kinds of ass, man.
