Disc Images?

Does anyone know anything about disc images on a mac? Everything I seem to download these days is in "disc image" format, and I have no idea how to open them up. Do I need a certain program or am I just a complete lummox? If you have any expertise that could be useful to me, I beg your assistance. Thank you.

You need to burn the image to a CD/DVD. There should be an option for that in your burner program.

I'm guessing double clicking isn't working then...?

There should be software to make the OS believe that it's running a cd instead of an image on your hard drive.

I don't use mac os so I can't help you with finding it.
