that was cool but damn dont interviewers or ricky himself realize that every single interview of his is always the same shit: early days of def jam, touring with the beasties and run dmc, giuliani sucks, the village, has taken pics of athletes and rappers alike.

i would almost guarantee if someone did a search on his interviews it would be the same ol, same ol.

maybe he isnt someone you should waste paper on. i imagine its a difficult interview since you cant really pinpoint what he does, is he a photographer? a talk show host? a designer? just a mack about town? and then also the things he's best known for, photos/talk show host, are on such a low level- public access and photos that are shot with a simple point and shoot cam(not to down play his photos. he has some classics)

the early days of def jam were like the early days of motown/sun studios........ricky is the only one who caught those images......for that alone, he's an icon!

haha. its the truth dude. I used to be on here years ago, have a monsterous Beasties collection and helped Mark get Beastiemania going, but then I got totally burnt out on all that Tibet/Buddhist shit and dropped off the map

that wouldnt be the beastie boys that would be yauch. and there was hardly a mention of tibet or buddhism in their recent interviews. if this were 1998 i could see your point.

I guess Ricky Powell's stand up comedy career didn't go very far either. I heard a bootleg Beastie show where he came and did some terrible jokes, got booed, ended calling an audience member a fucking bitch, which got looped into that "to all the ladies" that begins PB.
