View Full Version : What the world desperately NEEDS...

...is a REVOLUTIONARY.

The closest thing I think we have to that is Bono.

We need someone who can affect change in this world.

Who would fit that bill? Maybe that person hasn't been born yet or maybe it's someone who works at your local library.

Do we need a new world order? Hell yes!

What we need is the opposite of Hitler. You dig?

a real revolutionary would be a person that is one of the people, someone who has experienced the difficulties and hardship that the majority of people in the world have experienced, not some rich pop star fucker giving money because he feels bad.
i don't know who, but absolutely not a celebrity. no way.

LESS TV?
Been hearing that sociologists are interestingly watching Bhutan, where they've only had TV since 1999 or something, but since that time crime levels have started to increase. Is TV to blame? And why? Images flickering at 24 frames per second affecting the brain? Images of greed and desire? Both?

LESS SUGAR?
Simple carbohydrates not only make us fat, rot out teeth, take calcium from our bones, make us fat, cause diabetes but they apparently make us stupid and malignant, with evidence to show that reduced simple carbohydrates in the diet can reduce anti-social behaviour and raise IQ.

PARENTING CLASSES?
People learn to become arseholes from very early on. Would the world be a better place if we taught kids basic decency from as early an age as possible. This would include teaching kids that they can't get what they want whenever they want it.

A DIFFERENT EDUCATION?
We brainwash kids into believing they can have it all one day. The fact is there's not enough of it to go around so in reality, probably they can't. An education system shouldn't train kids for the best case scenario; it should train them for the worst - for a lack of convenience stores, a lack of money, a lack of anything basically. That way they become more resourceful, more self sufficient, less reliant on welfare, corporations or oil and anything else we expect the people in power to give us at an unacceptable cost.

... good points. But I do disagree that Bono grew up as a celebrity and did not experience any hardships. Northern Ireland was not exactly a heavenly place. Sure he is rich and a famous rockstar but he does and has affected change, as did Bob Geldof in a huge way. It would be ideal if it was the CHE type of the oi polloi but if it's of a different fabric, then so be it.
There is no prerequisite to being a revolutionary.
Nor should there be.

Bono grew up in North Dublin(Finglas), some fifty miles from the Northern Ireland border and one hundred miles from Belfast.
He also wrote a song called, "Sunday Bloody Sunday", calling attention to Northern Ireland. And that song was and is still huge.

He brought a lot of awareness for the plight of that country as an individual leading the biggest rock band in the world.
Do you see the Stones or AC DC, etc. doing that?

Perhaps it should be incumbent for those who are rich and famous to do
charitable and meaningful deeds.

Anyways, Bono was just an example.
The President of the United States would be a much better candidate.

hey guys newbie reporting .I'd just like to say that I have a a good idea of what a revolution is the only true revolution is of the individual of the mind if you think about it.This is a quote from Jiddhu Krishnamurti http://www.jkrishnamurti.org

"Is it possible for the thinker and the thought, for the observer and the observed, to be one? You will never find out if you merely glance at this problem and superficially ask me to explain what I mean by this or that. Surely, this is your problem, it is not my problem only; you are not here to find out how I look at this problem or the problems of the world. This constant battle within, which is so destructive, so deteriorating—it is your problem, is it not? And it is also your problem how to bring about a radical change in yourself and not be satisfied with superficial revolutions in politics, in economics, in different bureaucracies. You are not trying to understand me or the way I look at life. You are trying to understand yourself, and these are your problems which you have to face; and by considering them together, which is what we are doing in these talks, we can perhaps help each other to look at them more clearly, see them more distinctly. But to see clearly merely at the verbal level is not enough. That does not bring about a creative psychological change. We must go beyond the words, beyond all symbols and their sensations...

We must put aside all these things and come to the central issue—how to dissolve the "me," which is time-binding, in which there is no love, no compassion. It is possible to go beyond only when the mind does not separate itself as the thinker and the thought. When the thinker and the thought are one, only then is there silence, the silence in which there is no image-making or waiting for further experience. In that silence there is no experiencer who is experiencing, and only then is there a psychological revolution that is creative."

Bono is a tit and only morons need revolutionaries to show them how to live their lives. You've got the internet and TV, read the newspapers, see what's bad for you and don't do it. Simple as.

yes the "shit"are in power,so then is its a chain reactionthat goes to the deepst level of society. The numbness of people is unbelievable.Everybody is brainwash to mcdonald and brittney spears,dr phil, oprah,so on.

i mean its not all bad,its 50 %wise people/50% morons, and like you said tons of fun,its seem that moron always win.But good fellowman need to work harder to outweight the destruction of the "moron".
we all are aware about the environnement ,how its is on the verge of a catastrophy! But you know, how many people do recycling, how many people walk short distance instead of burning gaz,or stop using chemical products, spray can(deodorant, air freshner...)

I think the reason we don't have a revolutionary is because people fear of getting assassinated. But then again people are pussies nowadays anyway... ya know how to talk a lot of talk but run away instead of walkin' the walk.

If only those terriosts would bomb the "true" enemies
violence isn't the answer, I know, but the results are always faster...but then again the results aren't what is to be expected

Look at jesus or mohamed and all the people that have wronged in their names...you don't have to torture someone to follow your beliefs...because then your religion will be percieved as false

humanity is blind to common sense
