I just checked then and heard it. Its hard to hear ay ? He says it JUST as the drums come in. Another song where lyrics are hard to hear on is "Desperado" like when they say "MCA is a Desperado" or "Adrock is a Desperado" I dunno if its just my speakers but I can barely hear it. Im pretty sure I saw a post where someone said "ya cant hear it because it was recorded in mono" ? or something like that ?

i've never heard desperado, and I can't get to the hub at the moment.
I mean, anytime anyone wants to link me to some rare tracks,
all I can do is give thanks.
but, take pcp happens just before "hethrustshisfistagainstheposthestillinsistsheseesa ghost"
if you are anysort of beastie boys fan,
you will listen to their albums after liscencse to lll on headphones.
if you are layed back and relaxed, and try to stretch your ears out into the
corners of the track, you will hear some crazy shit.

some songs they have will sound completely different if you focus on the background harder than what is already heard.

take "getlive"
for example.
if you are a bit high, and
focus in on the drippy sounding percussion, the way you hear the rest of the track around it is so phsycedelic its just not funny.

my other favorite track like that is
makin with the freak freak.

if you catch that song in the right way, it will flip your fuckin lid.
I dunno if I could even hear it right again,
but when I did it was nuts.

has a very strange progression.
it seems normal, but it is more complex if you hear it right.

shazam
has a similar vibe.
like when mike d does his splash/scat sorta thing for the bridge,
you can really listen to it in two different ways.
this must be something the beasties are aware of that they do.
I mean, hip hop is all about hearing things in different ways.

It's really hard to explain what I am trying to get across.
especially when I've had a few and about to sleep.

I know what yall mean if ya hear a song enough ya slowly start to hear it differently. Like ya start figuring out what they are saying like ya listen to the story of a song, then it goes onto certain other things, like noises you didnt usually hear. Or like you hear JUST the drum in a certain beat or JUST this certai weird sound. Shits weird.

that is so weird i had that same experience with "bboys makin with the freak freak" i lnever was a fan of it until i took mushrooms one night and that was playing.In the middle of the song when the beat changes and the crazy bassline comes in it is so trippy its amazing.
